We've never posted about Swedish rock duo Johnossi on AP.net, but the band just released its new album, Transitions, in the U.S. this week. Unfortunately I won't be able to hash out a full review of the album, but I felt like it should be posted about because I think it will interest some readers. The LP stands out because of its huge-sounding guitar work and nuanced rhythm section; it gives me vibes of straightforward rock and roll, garage rock, indie rock and gloomy, hazy pop all at once. There are a few music videos in the replies, which include album highlights "Into The Wild" and "Gone Forever," so check those out if you're interested. Transitions is available on iTunes.
I saw Bad Suns play their first show in Portland last night and came away extremely impressed (the lead singer hitting the high notes in "Salt" was great). They have an EP out right now and mentioned they just finished recording their full-length for release later this year. Definitely a band to keep an eye on if you, like me, are into bands like The 1975, Walk the Moon, and are trying to wash the latest Neon Trees album out of your mouth.
