Thom Yorke sure seems like he's teasing something music related. The Verge speculates it may be for Atoms for Peace.
f course, Radiohead's fanbase has since sprung into action theorizing what, if anything, Yorke is trying to convey with the image. Because of the fact that Radiohead reportedly has just started making its new album, this probably isn't a tease that the album is being pressed quite yet. It's possible that the record could contain some new music from Yorke's second band Atoms for Peace — in the background of the image, you can see artwork in the same style of the group's 2013 release Amok.

Metallica will issue 27 live albums by end of 2014. Who do they think they are? Phish?
The group will be unrolling the releases in three-album batches each Monday through the end of the year in the order they played the shows, beginning with Bogotá, Colombia. It's also offering a box set of all 27 shows, which will ship in December. All sales will be conducted through the LiveMetallica website.

Guided By Voices have broken-up.
Guided By Voices has come to an end. With 4 years of great shows and six killer albums, it was a hell of a comeback run. The remaining shows in the next two months are unfortunately canceled. Our sincere apologies to those that have purchased tickets and made travel plans.

Marvel have posted up a look at Gerard Way's upcoming run writing for Spider-Man.
Way elaborates: “In a futurist city fairly different from the New York we are familiar with, our version of Spider-Man takes the shape of a government project: SP//dr. SP//dr is comprised of three vital components: a pilot, a machine, and a radioactive sentient spider acting as one half of the brain that makes it all work. Peni Parker is a young girl, who, left parentless, is adopted by her Aunt May and Uncle Ben, the two heads of the SP//dr project. When they realize Peni is the only one who can successfully pair with SP//dr, they make the unorthodox decision to train her as SP//dr's newest pilot.”

Head to AltPress to hear a new Yellowcard song called "Crash The Gates" and read an interview with Ryan Key.
[Neal Avron] was a big part of why this thing turned out the way it did. At the beginning, he was like, “I think you guys are ready to step out of the box a little more. You never have before.” I think in the end, there were probably more raging rock guitars on it than he would have liked, but he helped us find a good medium. He never just lets you do things, even though we’ve made so many records with him over the years. He doesn’t just press “record” and let it go. He’s deeply invested in what we do, and that’s why we keep going back to him. It feels really good when he tells...

The EP was recorded with Citizen's Mat Kerekes and you should check it out if you enjoy the poppier parts of Fireworks.

Noah Gundersen will be selling a new EP on his upcoming tour.
While we were in the studio this August working on the new record, Noah took a day and sat down guitar in hand and played 4 new songs plus 1 cover completely live and straight to analog tape. In our excitement to share them with you, we’ll be exclusively selling them as an EP entitled “Twenty-Something” at every show on the upcoming fall tour until the final date at The Moore theater in Seattle. It’s a beautiful collection of new music to tide everyone over until the new record is available sometime next year. Cover art is below and be sure to check out all the tour dates at the website link below. We can’t wait to see you...

It looks like a fight broke out between Citizen and security in San Diego.
We're sorry San Diego. Violence is never the answer when the job is to keep people secure. (Grown men, keep your hands off of young kids.) There is a right and a wrong way to handle everything. When push came to shove, the kids and venue showed their sensibility.. The offending security was dealt with accordingly. No violence. No compromise. You chose the right- Thanks for everything. xo

This week's episode of the AbsolutePunk Podcast has us revisiting a few of the topics from last week as the entire "U2 on your phone" thing became a much larger story than we anticipated. We then look at the idea of having a "collection" of music and how or why that plays a role with digital files, streaming, and the rise of vinyl. Then we discuss the pretty awesome new Manchester Orchestra album and release method, and then talk a little bit more about Yellowcard's new one as well. We finish up with a discussion about Senses Fail signing with Pure Noise Records and thinking aloud about why bands still sign with records labels. The episode can be streamed and/or downloaded below.
