Happy Thanksgiving everyone. The website will be much slower in the news department than usual today as we gorge ourselves on food, drinks, and as much family and friends as we can handle. As Thomas wrote yesterday, the podcast is taking the week off as well. I just want to wish everyone a happy holiday.

The next few days always have a bunch of sales that show up for people to spend their money on, so I'm going to keep this thread open for the weekend and if there's a great deal you know about, please share it in the replies. Personally, I think this price on Amazon for one of my favorite pair of closed headphones, the Beyerdynamic DT-770s, is really good. Other sites worth checking...

Given that we usually post new episodes of Encore on Thursdays, and tomorrow is Thursday, and also Thanksgiving, we've decided to take the week off from our regularly scheduled programming. Jason and I are both very thankful toward the folks who listen each week, and toward listeners who have just stopped by for an episode or two to see what the fuss is all about. With our rebranding and Teespring campaign this year, we were able to see first-hand how many people like listening to the show each week and it's still something we're not quite used to. We love recording the show every week and we love the interaction that we get to have with our listeners so often. It's a pleasure, and it...

Tyler ‘Scout’ Acord has left Issues. A full statement from Scout can be found here.
The problem with doing something that your heart isn’t fully committed to though, is it wears off real quick. I started to become envious of every other band member living out their dreams playing what they were passionate about, getting better at their craft, all the while I was showing up for work every day. It got to the point where my least favorite part of the day was getting on stage, which is pretty ass backwards to the point of playing music for a living.

Billboard reached out to various members of N*Sync to get their thoughts on Adele's accomplishment today, and Joey Fatone responded.
"Records are always meant to be broken, but with technology and current music business model, I thought this one would be tough to beat," Fatone tells Billboard. "In all honesty, Adele is the truth -- kinda excited a rare talent like hers is in the same breath as our group. I'm a huge fan....I even bought the damn album."

I don’t know if we can save rock ‘n’ roll. I don’t know if that’s even the point. I think the thing is, rock 'n’ roll needs to be saved from the old folks’ home. It needs to be saved from being a vision of the past. It needs to accept that there is a future, and it needs to relate to the future.

Ariel Rechtshaid (ex-The Hippos) worked with Adele on "When We Were Young." He recently talked to The Fader about the process:
Rechtshaid is used to pushing the artists he works with in unusual directions. As well as helming records for artists such as Haim, Sky Ferreira and Vampire Weekend, in the past few years he's been in high demand by the mainstream, giving a leftfield touch to tracks on big pop albums. Perhaps this can be traced back to 2012, when he made R&B cornball Usher sound like a whole other artist on the simmering “Climax.” In the past 12 months alone, he’s worked with Madonna on her comeback single “Living For Love,” Carly Rae Jepsen on E•MO•TION standout “All That,”...
