Matt Metzler has just launched AnberlinForever.com, a website featuring an extensive unauthorized biography about Anberlin.
When I first spoke to Stephen about the band’s decision to part ways, he revealed that, for a while, they weren’t even planning on recording a final album. “We were just so proud of Vital, because we put so much into that record,” he said. “We loved it so much. We felt like, here’s a record that music reviewers and a lot of fans said was our best work to date — so why not leave out on that?”

Your favorite punk band, The Menzingers, are headlining two Red Bull Sound Select shows in New Jersey and Brooklyn on April 11 and 14, respectively. Big Eyes will support both dates with a different opening act on each one. These are the shows where you RSVP on the Internet then just pay $3 to get in at the door, based on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Off With Their Heads' frontman, Ryan Young, has posted a message in regard to an altercation at their show on Friday.
This tour has been great. Every show was fun. We had a blast with every crowd, every night. Until last night. One of the reasons that we stopped doing this band for a year was because we didn’t like the vibe at the shows. There are some people that genuinely connect with the music in one way or another, and then there are dick heads that seem to get off on ruining everyone’s night. I remember a friend of mine told me that I didn’t need to break our band up. I just needed to remember that at the end of the day, I don’t owe anyone a single thing. We went into this tour...

Trevor Noah will be taking over for Jon Stewart on The Daily Show.
The network’s selection of Mr. Noah comes less than two months after Mr. Stewart, 52, revealed on Feb. 10 that he was leaving “The Daily Show” after a highly successful 16-year run that transformed the show into authoritative, satirical comedy on current events. (An exact timetable for Mr. Stewart’s departure has not been decided, Comedy Central said.)

Chris Adler of Lamb of God is playing drums on the new Megadeth album. They'll be recording as a three piece: Adler, vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson.
Dave Mustaine comments, “Chris is a tremendous talent, and an amazing person. He is going to bring a new level of excitement and energy to Megadeth that the fans are going to lose their minds over. I have nothing but respect for my previous drummers, but this is going to absolutely kill! Back in 1989, Megadeth originally worked as a three piece - guitar, bass and drums - when we laid down the framework to our Grammy nominated platinum album ‘Rust In Peace.’ I want to thank the other members of Lamb Of God for...

Jonathan Diener, writing for Nothing Original:
I am the guy standing in the back of the crowd. I’m most likely crossing my arms and not singing along. Even in a situation when there’s a circle pit, stage diving or crowd surfing, I’m most likely not participating. When the singer of the band shouts out to the show-goers for a wall of death or to clap along, I don’t indulgethem. If you’re having a good time up front and look back to see me standing there, you probably think I’m trying to be cool. You probably think I’m not enjoying myself. If you assume those things, you’re in the wrong. I couldn’t be cool even if I tried and I’m probably having a great time. If that’s the case, then why...

Sarah Sahim, writing for Pitchfork:
What substantiates this are the microaggressions, as well as overt and covert expressions of racism, that happen as a result of those systemically held ideals. Some may take the success of artists of color as threat to their space or scene. White art is deemed more worthy of respect, and so white audiences respond to it positively—it is set up for success. It’s evidenced the last week of news: be it the insidious petition urging Glastonbury to drop Kanye West in favor of a "rock band" (read: a white artist), or the repeated co-option of Indian and Desi pop culture by Major Lazer going unremarked upon. White art additionally dilutes and flattens...

Laura Jane Grace, of Against Me!, writing for Noisey:
I made three laps around the world last year and every single airport interaction always included a "sir" addressed to me. Checking in, security, passport control, boarding, de-boarding, getting a cab, checking into the hotel, checking out of the hotel, the security guard at the club, some bartender, a waitress, some drunk dickhead telling me I look like Mark Wahlberg in Rock Star instead of a woman, another bartender, another taxi, and then do it all again the next day. Shoot me in the fucking head.
