Katy Perry performed at the AMAs last night in what appears to be a mixture of a Japanese kimono and a Chinese cheongsam. You know what the online response is going to be right? Not good.
And because of that, some are calling Perry's performance racist. One Twitter user (via The Huffington Post) said Perry "nailed the traditionally ignorant costume of a white pop singer." Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is developing an autobiographical drama series called The Noise for The CW. The show "chronicles the rise of a young artist in the 1990s who escapes a tumultuous home life and forms a wildly popular band with a unique sound."
Arcade Fire debuted four new songs in total from their upcoming LP Reflektor tonight. First they were the musical guests on Saturday Night Live, where they performed the title track from the album as well as "Afterlife." Following that the band debuted "Here Comes the Night Time," "We Exist," and balls-to-the-wall rocker "Normal People" on a concert special broadcast by NBC immediately after SNL. The concert included a variety of pretty random celebrity cameos (including Michael Cera, Bono, Ben Stiller, James Franco, Rainn Wilson, Zach Galifinakis and more) as well as a lot of bizarre but exuberant dancing both in the band and the audience alike.
