Yellowcard has officially announced its new album will be titled Southern Air and we can confirm it will be released on August 14. Check out a blog from Ryan Key below.
Blog from Ryan KeyWhen Yellowcard decided to take a break in 2008, I had never felt so uncertain about my future. I decided the best thing for me to do was leave Los Angeles and relocate to the East coast to be closer to my family. I landed in a small college town in Northeast Georgia called Athens. It was such a crucial and developmental chapter in my life for which I will be forever grateful.

I learned so much about the future I thought I was so uncertain about. I saw more clearly the things that really mattered,...

Yellowcard violinist Sean Mackin was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in December 2011, and has undergone surgeries and radiation to help fight it. He's getting stronger every day and plans to perform with Yellowcard throughout the entire Warped Tour. Sean wrote a message to the band's fans, which you can read below. Yellowcard is a favorite among the AP.net community, and I personally consider Sean to be one of the most genuinely nice, and wholeheartedly optimistic, people I've met in this industry. We wish him the best of luck moving forward in his treatments, hope he finds the strength and support he needs moving forward, and pray for only the best in the coming months.
From Sean...

Due to a recent surgery, Ryan from Yellowcard will be playing the first few date of Warped Tour sitting down.
From The BlogI have some unfortunate news. It is nothing too serious, but I had to have a medical procedure on the bottom of my right foot which is going to prevent me from putting any weight on it for 2 full weeks. Everything went fine and it will be healed up soon, but it looks like Iíll have to be sitting down on stage for the first couple of shows on the Vans Warped Tour. So Iím going to need everyone out there to step it up and make up for my lack of mobility up there! The first show of the tour is in Salt Lake City. In 2007 I remember seeing police officers climbing a chain...

As if you needed another reason to get excited about the new Yellowcard LP, it looks like Patrick Stump will be featured in a guest vocal spot on it as well. Violinist Sean Mackin says Yellowcard is "really throwing the kitchen sink at this one."

Got a quick update from Ryan Key from Yellowcard about the guest-vocals on the new album. Basically, the guest vocals are part of a huge group four-part harmony in the bridge of a new song. It includes Ryan, Alex from All Time Low, Cassadee Pope, and Tay from We Are The In Crowd. It's a four part harmony in the bridge, not lead vocals. Having spent some time with the band throughout the years, I feel relatively confident in saying this is the most excited I've ever heard them about a new batch of songs.

Message from Sean In April of 2010, the 5 of us met up in Los Angeles to play some music, hang out, and talk about the future of the band. I felt privileged to be invited to get to do so, and it was an amazing couple of days. Fast forward a year and a half and weíve put out two full lengths, shot 6 music videos, and traveled to almost 30 countries. Itís been an exhilarating time for all of us in the band and some of the most fun Iíve ever had in my music career. Which is why Iím sad today to let you all know that I am leaving Yellowcard.

This is not one of those ugly...
