The Favorite Gentlemen Tour recorded Daytrotter sessions early on in the tour's run. Today all four sessions have been released here, here, here and here. Below, Harrison Hudson reflects back on the recording.
Harrison Hudson on DaytrotterWe showed up to a non-descript house in north Nashville. We walked into the gated yard to the side of the house where the large steel studio doors stood. We met the engineers and then moved quickly to setting up. The main difference between recording live and playing live is trying not to move to much. Creating excess noise, being out of breath or most importantly, your headphones falling off, are things you want to avoid. We played our first...

Today we've got something special from our friends on the Favorite Gentlemen Tour. All Get Out recently shot a video with Brad Vander Lugt of La Dispute, David Williams, and Joseph VanSpronsen for a new live session series. Head to the replies to watch the behind-the-scenes view of the filming shot by Jonathan Corley of Manchester Orchestra.
From All Get OutWe had the pleasure of getting to shoot an acoustic session with our friends Brad Vander Lugt of La Dispute, David Williams, and Joseph VanSpronsen while we were on the way to our show in Lansing, Michigan to play at Mac’s Bar.

We loved getting a chance to do this with Brad, Dave, and Joe and when he told us his vision for...

You can check out our interview with Machine Gun Kelly here.
From The InterviewI'd say the one thing about my music that people don't know is that it's all done for what we want to hear, not what corporate wants to hear. I think that's a big deal, because it might be like "Oh, why'd you make that one song? Oh, so we can get a hit", but yet we don't make the hits, we just try and make songs that we want to hear at the time.

Today is one of those special days where I get to say a new part of the dream I've had for the past 12 or so years is coming true. It comes with great pride that we can announce something that I've been working on behind the scenes for over a year: the formation of a new publishing group that we're dubbing "AbsoluteVoices" (yeah, I'm not all that creative with names). You can check out the full press release below, but first I'd like to officially welcome and thank PunkNews.org, PropertyOfZack.com, UnderTheGunReview.net, and AlterThePress.com for agreeing to be part of a vision for what the future of music blogging and the publishing world can look like online. I feel like each site...

There's a tender spot in the '90s alternative rock scene that is held deep down in most avid of music listeners and musicians alike. It could have been the likes of Mudhoney and R.E.M., or the cold calculations of Unwound and The Jesus Lizard for those who sifted through the best college radio worship of years past. Then there's Nirvana - but that goes without saying. What's invested in bands such as Jawbox and Sunny Day Real Estate is the tone in which sets the mood for much of their greater pieces of work. While we certainly have seen our share of homage in bands such as Balance and Composure, Sainthood Reps, O'Brother, Cut Teeth and Brand New's "Drive Like Jehu for beginners" work...

When I first started this website it was with the dream that one day I'd be able to do it for a living. That I wouldn't ever have to get a "real" job. I've been insanely blessed to have seen this portion of my dream come true. Now, along with that I also had a vision for quite a few other things ... not all of them have come true, yet ... but part of it was that I wanted to be able to put together a team of AP.net staff that could work out of an office and also make a living doing what they love. I am able to say today that we've taken the first step toward actualizing that goal. In what I hope to be the first of many such announcements, I'd like to officially announce that...

A few months back I was jotting down some thoughts on how my musical taste has grown the past couple of years, and especially the last decade. While I could sit here all day and tell you how I've delved into this genre from that genre and so on, one thing hit me: I care more about how something sounds than I did when I was younger. It's less about the lyrical mood my choice in music makes and more about the audible wrecking ball on every new record I come across these days. To me, that's what is important. Whether it's as simple as a bright pop-punk song or as devastating as the drop out in a post-rock song, it's all about a feeling created through caring about not only how well a song...
