Travis Barker will be sitting out Blink-182's upcoming Australian tour due to his fear of flying. Brooks Wackerman of Bad Religion will be filling in.
The trip to Australia was planned during our European tour last summer. The band knew the chances of Travis overcoming his fear of flying, which was magnified after the horrible plane crash in 2008, would be a challenge, but we wanted to play for our fans in Australia nonetheless. The three of us tried all measures to get us all there in full form. Travis has been working to overcome his fear of flying. Since we now know we have to make the trip without Travis our friend Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D) has stepped...
blink-182’s dogs eating dogs debuted at #23 On The Billboard 200 as well as #3 on the Independent Albums chart, #5 on the Rock chart, #2 on the Alternative Albums chart and #3 on the Digital Albums chart.
Blink-182's new Dogs Eating Dogs EP is now available for pre-order on iTunes. I've been listening to it the past few days, and as a huge Blink fan, I'm not let down at all. Took a few listens for it to all set in, getting new Blink music still feels like it shouldn't be happening. There's a lot of dual vocals (although definitely more Tom centric), and a lot of energy ... fans of the band's last two albums are going to love it. I think that "Dogs Eating Dogs" and "Pretty Little Girl" are the two stand-outs ... although the weird spoken/rap part of the latter is taking some getting used to.
Dear anyone listening ... what the hell is going on with the Blink 182 EP pre-orders? They were up yesterday afternoon like promised, for like 10 minutes, then got pulled without any explanation. Someone ... anyone ... Bueller? What's going on?
Blink 182 will be releasing its new EP on December 18th. Mark Hoppus tells MTV News that he isn't "sure how many songs will make the final EP ... hopefully all five, but we'll make the final determination when the mixes are complete." More details, including what to expect with the pre-order, can be read here.
According to Mark Hoppus' tweet, Blink-182 are recording some new songs this week. And ... all three of them will be in the same room, so at least we can avoid some of those idiotic comments after the next album.
At Mark Hoppus' talk at the Oxford University Union last night, Mark stated in the post talk Q&A that Tom was due to start pre-production on the new Blink 182 album this week. They are also aiming to get it out by this time next year and that they were going to try to record as much as possible together.
