Travis Barker will be sitting out Blink-182's upcoming Australian tour due to his fear of flying. Brooks Wackerman of Bad Religion will be filling in.
The trip to Australia was planned during our European tour last summer. The band knew the chances of Travis overcoming his fear of flying, which was magnified after the horrible plane crash in 2008, would be a challenge, but we wanted to play for our fans in Australia nonetheless. The three of us tried all measures to get us all there in full form. Travis has been working to overcome his fear of flying. Since we now know we have to make the trip without Travis our friend Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D) has stepped...

I've posted up our interview with Chris Holmes, the engineer behind the new Blink-182 EP.
From The InterviewI'll echo what I've said before and say that if you're hearing similarities that's natural. The members are the same. I'd say if you listen through the blink catalog you can hear +44 and AVA before +44 and AVA existed.

Blink-182's new Dogs Eating Dogs EP is now available for pre-order on iTunes. I've been listening to it the past few days, and as a huge Blink fan, I'm not let down at all. Took a few listens for it to all set in, getting new Blink music still feels like it shouldn't be happening. There's a lot of dual vocals (although definitely more Tom centric), and a lot of energy ... fans of the band's last two albums are going to love it. I think that "Dogs Eating Dogs" and "Pretty Little Girl" are the two stand-outs ... although the weird spoken/rap part of the latter is taking some getting used to.

Travis Barker told Rolling Stone that the new Blink 182 EP is a hundred times better than Neighborhoods.
From The ArticleTo me already, this EP is a hundred times better than Neighborhoods," says Barker, referring to the band's 2011 reunion album. "Because we're all in a room together." The trio recorded nearly all of Neighborhoods remotely, emailing the tracks back and forth to each other. "There's some songs on there that I love, but for the most part it was disconnected," Barker recalls. "It was like, 'You do this part in your studio, and then you're gonna play on it and send it back to me.' When we're not in the studio together, you don't have the opportunity to gel off each other.

Future Idiots have re-recorded Blink 182's Neighborhoods in its entirety "to demonstrate how the original record should have sounded." Check it out here. Do you think it's an improvement?
InformationNeighborhoods and Morningwoods, a humorous name that in concert with the 14 tracks is meant to pay homage to a legend in Pop Punk. If you noticed, the songs on this record consist of the entire Blink-182 album 'Neighborhoods'. Most people think this in and of itself is a joke. I mean, why choose to cover what's widely considered to be Blink's worst album? Simple, it's all in an effort to make each and every song sound more like the Blink-182 we all fell in love with back in the day.
