Gerard Way has written a very long letter concerning the break up of My Chemical Romance.
My Chemical Romance had, built within its core, a fail-safe. A doomsday device, should certain events occur or cease occurring, would detonate. I shared knowledge of this ďflawĒ within weeks of its inception.
Personally, I embraced it because, again, it made us perfect. A perfect machine, beautiful, yet self aware of itís system. Under directive to terminate before it becomes compromised. To protect the idea- at all costs. This probably sounds like something ripped from the pages of a four-color comic book, and thatís the point.
No compromise. No surrender. No fucking shit.

To me thatís rock...

On the Self Promotion Forum this week, one can find the lovely Time Travels. Initially Frank McGinnis' solo act, the group recently expanded to a full band, and are all the better for it. The band have a incredibly pleasant indie-folk sound which could easily translate both to the hipster set and mainstream radio. If you're a fan of Joshua Radin, Yellowbirddd and artists of their ilk, Time Travels will be right up your street. Best of all, the entirety of their back catalog is free on Bandcamp, so there's lots of music to get you acquainted with the band before their upcoming LP this April. James: I have this other thing going with Frank from MCR called Death Spells. Weíre opening up for Mindless Self Indulgence in two or three weeks. Itís more like an electronic-hardcore project. Up until now, Iíve spent my life content in mediocrity, afraid of failure and hiding behind things, just saying, ďThis is the best I can do.Ē I made excuses based on where I came from and the defects in my bloodstream. I was hiding behind mistakes I had made in the past. I wasnít fighting for great, I was content in good,...

I posted up some thoughts after my first listen of The Wonder Years' new album, The Greatest Generation. Check back on Monday when we debut a song from the album and the band comes by to chat.
See, I never really felt like I got this band before. I liked a bunch of their songs. I got why kids were relating with the lyrics. I understood the passion and the excitement. But there was never an it moment that cemented for me that this was anything special. It was good, it was fun, but with all the excitement I was seeing from other fans online Ö Iíd always go back and re-listen to the albums hoping that I was missing something. That after this listen I would fully get why everyone was so...

Rock Sound has the first review of the new Paramore album in their upcoming issue. They like it.
Having barely set foot in front of an audience for the past two years, let alone in front of a camera, the band's self-titled fourth album quickly reveals that in re-emerging, Paramore have done so in a very, very different form. Where its predecessor perfectly captured a period of frustration and resentment - the result of which was an angry, bitter collection of songs that clattered and snarled in equal measure - 'Paramore' is a very much the sound of a happier, more comfortable band. Bathed in subtle synths and sprinkled with pinches of electronica, songs such as the aforementioned opener...

A crazed fan sent Jared Leto (30 Seconds To Mars) an actual human ear through the mail.
Someone cut their ear off once and sent it to me, that was very strange. A whole ear. The Van Gogh move. The note just said, 'Are you listening?'. I never knew who it was, who's missing their ear out there." Asked what he did with the gruesome gift, meanwhile, he jokingly replied: "I poked a hole in it and wore it as a necklace" and then added: "Just don't put your entire body in a case and send it to us.

The Contortionist's singer has left the band.
Music has always been one of my passions and that's what drew me to this band in the first place. The music comes first, and I know that the talent of the band will rise above this member change and they will find a new arrangement that will blow your minds.

Pete (Fall Out Boy) updated his blog with some more information about the band's choice for their new album cover and a plea not to pit the band members against each other (cough*NeonChrist*cough).
1. if you are a fan of this band- please donít pit us against each other. however you feel about patrick i feel it x a million. that was one of the things that led to us taking time off- we felt as though some of the base and media pit us against each other. were a team. we fight for the user.

Doesn't look like Novel American (ex-Paramore) will be releasing music anytime soon.
I hoped that there would be more, but nothingís really taking shape so thatís why Iíve been focusing more on this. We looked for a singer for about a year and a half and we tried some people but nothing really clicked. I wouldnít say itís never going to happen, but Iíd say it will just take more time.

My Chemical Romance are breaking up.
Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.

Super Happy Fun Club (ex-Lucky Boys Confusion) will release All Funned Up!! on June 4th.
It's all finally happening!! Two years in the making! My new(ish) band, Super Happy Fun Club is releasing our sophomore record - "All Funned Up"!!! Needless to say I am extremely excited about it - it's the best pop rock record I've been a part of since Throwing the Game. Thematically/lyrically I was able to get out a lot of the emotional hardships I was carrying around from 2012. It was great being able to vent about Joe passing away and how hard my divorce was. I hope people are going to be able to listen to this album as a whole - relate to the conflict, pump their fists to the anthemic choruses...
