From The Interview I think we carried along the tastes we gained along the way as musicians and players. The stuff that we did in the '90s or the' 00s sounded contemporary at the time because that's what things sounded like then and that's what was influencing us. Between now and then, that's twelve years of listening to new bands every day and approaching our instruments differently all the time. So we're always going to sound like us, but for us to sound like we did back then we would have to try; we would have to decide to make a... 6 Comments -

From The Interview This is some of the most personal music we've written in a long time, and I think for that reason, it felt right to have people who were really close to us and who we really valued as artists on the record this time around. We're not featuring people on the record because we want to put their name next to the song title. 9 Comments -

From The Interview But it seems like things are even crazier now. But it’s different sides of the same thing – in the title track, ultimately, I wanna offer some hope to the world. Like ‘Hey, we know things suck, and it sucks for everybody. But you’ve gotta keep in mind that things will get better, that this, too, shall pass.’ But there is a flip side to it, like “Secrets From the Underground,” where I’m saying that a lot of people have gotten hurt, but now it’s gone beyond the hurt to where people are just fucking pissed. 8 Comments -

From The Interview It’s incredibly difficult to keep it pure, because everything in the industry seeks to dilute that purity. I understand that, and I understand there’s not really anything you can do about it. It is an absolute necessary evil. I want to play music, and I want to feel passionately about playing music. I can do that on the street corner, put a little tin cup out in front of myself, and hope that my daughter has food tonight, but it doesn’t work like that. So you’re intrinsically at odds with the purity of the art form from the very beginning. 4 Comments -
