Green Day's long time producer, Rob Cavallo, tells Kerrang that he's heard new Green Day demos and they sound "fantastic." Just no more triple discs please.

A big congratulations to Green Day, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last night by Fall Out Boy. Hit the replies to read Fall Out Boy's induction speech, and Green Day's acceptance speeches.
Only a handful of bands get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the first year they're eligible these days. When Billie Joe Armstrong learned that Green Day were one of them, he could barely process the news. "I had to go for a walk," he says. "I wound up at this cafe and I sat down and my son met up with me. I told him and he was like, 'Oh my God. No way.' It just took some time to sink in. We're in incredible company and I'm still trying to make sense of this. It's just incredible."
We have some news to report regarding our brother Jason White, and wanted you to hear it from us before word spread. Jason recently underwent a routine tonsillectomy, and his doctors discovered a treatable form of tonsil cancer. Thankfully they caught it early and he should make a full and speedy recovery.
Please join us in sending him love and positive healing vibes during this time.
Judy Greer, Fred Armisen and Selma Blair have joined Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong in the upcoming music drama Geezer. The film will contain new songs written and performed by Billie.
“Geezer” centers on the mid-life crisis of a husband and father who, on his 40th birthday, decides to revisit his punk-rock past by throwing an extravagant party in the presidential suite of the Drake Hotel -- where he encounters his beautiful ex-girlfriend and former bandmates who have since moved on to bigger and better things.
Dirnt, along with Green Day's longtime manager Pat Magnarella, will produce “Crickets” from a script by Alfredo Botello. The story, by Botello and Jack Umbrella, centers on the relationship of two estranged brothers. One, an aspiring stand-up comic, is dying of a terminal illness. He asks his brother, a depressed office drone, for one last request: to go on stage and perform his material for him to see if he ever really had talent. What he doesn't reveal, though, is that he has an even bigger surprise in store.
It seems as if he still can not quite believe it, that he has outgrown his little room in which he created the first songs on the computer - and now plays along, even in the big leagues. "For my next album I got myself Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Brandon Flowers of the Killers and even Chris Martin into the studio - this is so great for me, I have always admired them all."

Phil Everly's (The Everly Brothers) last ever interview, where he talked about Billie Joe and Norah Jones' Foreverly record, can be found on Paste.
Well, the two pieces that I have heard are just really, really sensational, really good. I heard “That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine” the other day, and they did it a little faster, and it’s really quite interesting. It’s one of my favorite songs, anyway, but it was always hard for me. On the last tour my brother and I did in England, we were doing an acoustic set in the middle of it, and we would do that one. And it’s a real hard song to sing—it just brings up that…that emotional feeling. But Billie Joe and Norah do a great job with it.
The Everly Brothers’ harmonies are so immaculate. You can tell that they’re brothers and have been singing together basically since birth. They improved on the whole craft of singing harmony, and their harmonies are pretty much better than everybody’s.
In a recent BBC Radio 2 interview, Billie Joe Armstrong reveals that Green Day will be "taking a break" after completing their Australian tour dates. Guys, I beg you ... you can't go out on those last three albums.
