StatementRocketown does not comment on personnel issues, but, generally speaking, an employee would not be fired for expressing opinions on marriage. At Rocketown we are welcoming and accepting of all youth. We reach out to all kids, are inclusive and very much care about acceptance of youth from different ethnicities, sexual orientations, financial backgrounds and religions. Our mission is to provide a safe and drug-free environment where kids are welcomed, accepted and loved.

Beyonce got caught for lip-syncing her rendition of "The National Anthem" from yesterday's performance at President Obama's inauguration. It's also worth noting that Kelly Clarkson DID perform when she sang "My Country Tis' of Thee."

An employee of the Nashville venue Rocketown was recently fired after 7 years of employment for wearing a Hostage Calm "I Support Same-Sex Marriage" shirt.
From the BandToday, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a longtime supporter of Hostage Calm and marriage equality was fired from his job at the Nashville music venue, Rocketown, for wearing his “I Support Same-Sex Marriage” shirt to work. A friend from Nashville contacted me about the situation and told me of Wes Breedwell, this seven-year employee of Rocketown who now finds himself the victim of discrimination. We called this brave man to hear his story, demonstrate our support, and figure out how we can help.

What I heard from him...

Let's add Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) to the list of musicians that doesn't like how the GOP is using their music.
Message from DeeIt was brought to the attention of the management today that Paul Ryan has been using tour client Dee Snider's composition "We're Not Gonna Take It" in his political campaign to become the Vice President of The United States of America. Dee does not support Paul Ryan. Accordingly, Dee has released this statement to Benjy Sarlin, campaign reporter for TPM in Washington, DC:

I emphatically denounce Paul Ryan's use of my song "Were Not Gonna Take It" as recorded by my band Twisted Sister. There is almost nothing on which I agree with Paul Ryan, except...

Rage Against The Machine have commented back upon finding out that budding Vice-President, Paul Ryan, says that they're his favorite band.
Tom MorelloPaul Ryan's love of Rage Against the Machine is amusing, because he is the embodiment of the machine that our music has been raging against for two decades. Charles Manson loved the Beatles but didn't understand them. Governor Chris Christie loves Bruce Springsteen but doesn't understand him. And Paul Ryan is clueless about his favorite band, Rage Against the Machine

Silversun Pickups are stopping Mitt Romney from using their song at his campaign events.
Statement From The BandWe don't like people going behind our backs, using our music without asking, and we don't like the Romney campaign," Silversun Pickups lead singer Brian Aubert said in the statement. "We're nice, approachable people. We won't bite. Unless you're Mitt Romney! We were very close to just letting this go because the irony was too good. While he is inadvertently playing a song that describes his whole campaign, we doubt that 'Panic Switch' really sends the message he intends.
