Converge guitarist and Godcity Studios founder Kurt Ballou will host the next free CreativeLive Music & Audio workshop, "Fix it in the Mix," on November 24th from 9am-4pm PST. The workshop will explore organic approaches to recovering and enhancing the natural tones from original performances without replacing drums with samples and re-amping guitars.
"Obviously sample replacement of drums and re-amping of guitars can be effective ways to revive sub-par recordings, but they can also homogenize the uniqueness of the original tracks," commented Ballou. "In this class, I'll explore organic approaches to turn your tracks from trashy to classy."
“This was definitely a challenge,” Bannon says. “A lot of bands, at least in our music world, tend to tour Europe in the summer, since there a lot of festivals there in the summer.. . . After the Boston Marathon tragedy, a benefit show featuring heavy hitters like Converge, Slapshot, Wrecking Crew, and more was held on May 6th, 2013 to raise money for the One Fund charity. Titled "This Is Boston," the show raised nearly $15,000, but fast forward a year later and missing money, accusations of mismanagement and theft have sullied the reputation of the event. This has obviously not sat well with Converge vocalist Jacob Bannon and the other bands from that bill and they are doing everything they can to get the money into the hands of the charitable organization.

"Pound For Pound: The Wolverine Blues Sessions" Digital EP from Converge features our rendition of "Wolverine Blues" originally written and performed by Entombed, presented as five different tracks.
Each vocalist recorded a full version of the song which we used to compile into the final version included on the Converge and Napalm Death Split 7"EP. This Digital EP is the complete mixes of each guest vocalist who contributed to the final track, presented as five unique versions of the song.
Converge were in a van wreck last night after hitting some black ice in Oregon. Thankfully, everyone is okay and the band was able to get back on the road. Just a reminder to all our favorite bands - please be safe out there!
According to a recent studio report featured in the February 2012 issue of "Decibel"; Converge are planning to title their forthcoming album All We Love We Leave Behind. They are planning on a early summer release on Epitaph Records.
