Deftones frontman Chino Moreno spoke to BBC Radio 1 last night and confirmed that their as yet untitled new album has a tentative release date of September 26th. The band is also playing a one off show at London's Wembley Arena on November 21st.
"I feel like we've gone into the songs and really dissected them. If something sounded a little straight, we took a left turn and made things a little screwy. We just tried something completely opposite, not to sabotage it, but to challenge ourselves and try new things that we haven’t done in the past."
One year ago today, Deftones bassist Chi Cheng passed away. Today, the band took to Facebook to share a song titled "Smile" from their unreleased record Eros. You can stream the track in the replies. R.I.P. Chi.
In the video in the replies, Chino Moreno of Deftones talks about the possibility of releasing Eros (the record the band was working on when bassist Chi Cheng had his accident), saying it may be "more appropriate now."

Deftones will release their new album, Koi No Yokan on November 13th. The album's track listing can be found below. The band will also release a new song "Leathers" tomorrow and their lead single "Tempest" on October 9th.
Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno and former Isis members Aaron Harris, Clifford Meyer and Jeff Caxide have formed a new band called Palms. Their debut album will be released later this year on Ipecac Recordings.
