It's been twenty years of butt jokes and punk rock for the Dallas band, Bowling for Soup, and in honor of such a momentous benchmark the band is releasing a best-of compilation, Songs that People Actually Liked: Volume 1 (1994-2003). Bowling for Soup have launched a new PledgeMusic campaign to fund their "Official Greatest Hits Volume 1" album. It looks like they'll be re-recording the songs for the release (to get around licensing issues with their past labels maybe?) -- check out all the information here.
As of now, the album is 17 classic BFS songs from the first 10 years of our band re-recorded to bring them the glory we think they deserve and 1 brand new original song!

Bowling For Soup will no longer be touring but will continue on as a band. A video announcement can be found in the replies, along with their final UK tour dates. In addition to a new album later this year, the band will be releasing a covers album and a greatest hits album in 2014 to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
Bowling For Soup, Patent Pending and The Dollyrots will release a three-way split entitled One Big Happy! on September 25th. Each band covers one another in addition to contributing a new original song. Listen to samples of the tracks here.

People on Vacation is the unlikely pairing of Bowling For Soup's Jaret Reddick and Smile Smile's Ryan Hamilton. Despite their differing backgrounds, the Texans come together to combine the pop punk sensibilities of the former with the indie rock background of the latter.
