This band started touring in late 2012. Since the beginning not a single member has made a single cent. From day one, the band has been in copious amounts of debt. Factors contributing to the debt: the big one is relocating from Australia to the United States. Moving a touring band across the world is a very serious undertaking and a lot of money is used in the process, think of it as a start up investment. Along with relocating, unfortunate luck with reoccurring vehicle issues on top of numerous other factors have not put us into a great place financially. With that said, not being paid or seeing any financial gains...
Update: Head to the replies to also see a message from Cam regarding the future of the band.
Kevin and Jason have announced they are leaving Sorority Noise. A few upcoming shows may be cancelled, so we'll keep you up to date on all of that information. Head to the replies for the full statement.
we have not discussed the future of the band from here on out, but a line up change will likely be in order. several of our upcoming shows may likely be cancelled.
After spending some of the greatest and hardest moments of our last 7 years together, Gav is moving on to other endeavors and will no longer be part of the band. Although his drumming and companionship will be sorely missed and never replaced, we love him and wish him all the best. He joined Paper Route as our friend, and he leaves as one. Send him your love in the comments below.
Meet Vulvatron, a spiky purple Amazon whose massive (prosthetic) breasts occasionally shoot geysers of blood out onto her hapless audience. Vulvatron is not dancing, or breathing fire, or keeping the slaves in line (though one assumes she’ll be adept at all three). For the first time since the departure of dancer and backing singer Slymenstra Hymen (Danielle Stampe) in 2000, GWAR has a female member, and she’s the frontwoman.
Well, here we are. we’d like to welcome our new singer Laurel Zarcilla to Smalls. after a couple of months of planing we were finally able to get together once tour came to an end. Gus came in contact with her through her YouTube channel where she had a pretty good following.
Plug In Stereo's self-titled album, coming on next Tuesday, will be Trevor Dahl's last release under the monicker before moving on to a new solo project.
This album explores just about everything in my life that has happened since I started Plug In Stereo. I wrote "Better Off Alone" when leaving high school, I wrote "Give It Up" when my girlfriend and I broke up, I wrote "Hey There Little Bird" when I felt like giving up, etc, So the album is really going to let people know more about my personal life. I've been working on this collection of songs for a long long time. Some songs were written this year, some of them are 4 years old. I just wanted this album to be full of the best/most...
Ashley Cadwallader has left Smalls. PropertyOfZack is reporting this is due to homophobia from her bandmates.
After months of struggling with the decision, Cadwallader realized she could no longer take the abuse and vitriole [sic] thrown at her by her own bandmates because they refused the accept the fact that she is gay.
Her leaving the band was a professional break. It had nothing to do with my past relationship with her, or who she is as a person. I’ve always expressed nothing but love, and respect to not only her but the people around me. I grew up with a home with a mother who taught me well; love others...
Close Your Eyes bassist/backing vocalist Sonny Vega has left the band in order to focus on his new child. He has been replaced by Alex Whitten.
A lot of you have been asking about Sonny, so we would like to clear that whole thing up. Sonny and his wife are having a baby and he would like to be home to be a full time husband and dad. We are super happy for Sonny, and it just worked out that a long time friend of the band, Alex Whitten, was finishing college at the same time. So, Alex will be taking Sonny's place in the band.
It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Jeremy as the drummer in OLP. Jeremy was important to us all and we wish him nothing but the best as he explores life outside OLP and pursues new goals.
A wise man once said "change is the law of life and those who only look to the past are certain to miss the future." We will always treasure our past but we are truly excited about the future. We've just finished recording new music with producer Mike Elizondo and will be showcasing some of the new material on the upcoming summer shows.
Neil Young and Crazy Horse bassist Billy Talbot recently suffered a minor stroke. Longtime Young collaborator Rick Rosas will be filling in on the band's upcoming European tour. We wish Talbot a speedy recovery.
We have some crummy news to share – Corey has decided to leave Banner Pilot, and played his final show with us last weekend. It's been awesome to have him as part of the band for the last few years, and we're bummed to see him go. Luckily, it's just because he has other cool stuff going on in his life right now, and not for a bad reason like him being adamant about moving the band in a ska direction. Luckily for all of you, you can still check him out in his other band, The Manix, and we recommend you do so. So, what does this mean for the other three sad sacks in Banner Pilot? Well, it means we need a new guitar player! If you're interested, shoot an...
Kliph Scurlock confirmed to Indian Country Today Media Network that he was fired by Wayne Coyne for criticizing Christina Fallin. "I was fired for telling Christina to go fuck herself after her lame-ass 'apology' when people got upset at her stupid headdress photo," he wrote. "That happened in mid-March. I wasn't anywhere around during the performance [at Norman Music Festival] the other night."
For those of you not present at either our Grand Rapids or our Cleveland show this past Sunday and Monday respectively (excepting of course close friends not in attendance who were privy to this information prior to the commencement of tour), Kevin has, after roughly ten years of standing to my left and playing guitar in La Dispute, decided to move on to pursue other endeavors. Unsurprisingly, he’s stepping only sideways in his passion, opting instead to pursue the building of beautiful guitars rather than to play guitar beautifully as a profession, enrolling in a luthiery school here in our home...
Shane Blay, the new frontman of Wovenwar, has posted an update to clarify that he will still be in Oh, Sleeper as well.
To put to rest the rumors that I'm leaving Oh Sleeper I tell you this: Micah and I started this band 8 years ago and have stayed with it through the thick and thin. That is still the case. Its tattoo'd on my chest for crying out loud. As long as Oh Sleeper is a band, I'll be in it.
Long story short, we legally cannot operate under the band name “Daylight” anymore. So we’re changing it. The music we write, the members we have, and the message we put forth remain unchanged. We will still perform any and all of the music we have written together up to this point.
Arif has decided that the touring schedule we have signed up for to support Volition is more intense than what he is prepared to commit. He is actively involved with other projects at home and being a full time band member isn't a practical thing. Though he has and will be missed out on the road with his brothers, everything was left on a positive note and we are open to his involvement down the road and only time will see how it all plays out. In the meantime, our longtime friend and tourmate Cam McLellan will be filling in on bass duties for the rest of the cycle. As an amazing musician, co-writer and producer of...
Hole will be reuniting with the band's mid-90s lineup. In a new interview with Quietus, Love confirms that guitarist Eric Erlandson, drummer Patty Schemel, and bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur are rehearsing new material.
We are sad to announce that Gordon is no longer a member of Frightened Rabbit. For 3 years he was a vital part of the band and his contribution to Pedestrian Verse was massive in making what we believe to be our best record yet. There is no more to tell other than sometimes things just don't work out and when people have differing opinions often the best option is to simply part ways and get on with life separately. We wish Gordon all the best in whatever he decides to do and are sure that whatever he does next will be as much fun and as successful as his time in FR.
Hey everyone! We're super excited to announce that Ryan Donovan of Nothington bass guitar fame will be stepping up into the unenviable role of playing guitar for Red City Radio following Paul's departure. WELCOME RYAN! As most of you know, Paul's last show will be April 12th in OKC. We're also excited that Garrett, who sang lead on most of Titles, will be transitioning to full time lead vocalist. All of our European tour dates are still happening. You'll be hearing more from us soon! Be awesome to each other!
Handguns have parted ways with drummer Woody Spokas.
Anyone who was expecting to see me on the Love like tour with All time Low and Man Overboard sorry but I won't be seeing you guys. With the tour approaching fast I figured it's about time I released a statement. Handguns decided that it's best for me to part ways with the band. I was a member of Handguns for the past 2 years and exceeded way more than I thought I ever would in my life. It was the best 2 years I've ever had in my life and will hold onto those memories and the people that I've met forever. My position in the band can be replaced without a doubt but, those accomplishments and the stories I made will never be ...
Fast Astronaut (ex-The Dear Hunter) is looking for another member to join the band. They're looking for a bassist that can sing, but are open to other submissions as well. They're also based out of Nashville, Tennessee. So if you fit all of those things, send them over an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also stream the band's new EP in the replies.
Very sad to announce that Feb 7th at the University of Wyoming was my final show performing as the drummer of Kingsfoil. Due to scheduling conflicts in the coming months, the guys in the band decided to replace me as the drummer a few weeks ago. Although I'm sad about not being a part of the band, I understand their decision and support them moving forward!
I want to thank all my fans and the fans of Kingsfoil for supporting me while I got to live out one of my dreams. Playing drums in a touring rock band was incredible, and I will remember the times I was lucky enough to experience forever!
In the autumn of 2012 we made a decision as a band to put things on hold, as many of us had other commitments in our lives that needed to take priority. Almost two years on, for the most part now settled in where we want to be, it feels like there is space for change. When we put out the hiatus statement, we genuinely thought we were going to be away for quite a while, and we didn't see any chance of having free time to do anything other than focus on our professional lives. We're glad that this is not the case. We are really excited to say that Basement will be playing shows this summer, and we’re looking forward to...
It is with great pain but quiet respect, that for personal reasons Joey Jordison and Slipknot are parting ways. We all wish Joey the best in whatever his future holds. We understand that many of you will want to know how and why this has come to be, and we will do our best to respond to these questions in the near future. It is our love for all of you, as well as for the music we create, that spurs us to continue on and move forward with our plans for releasing new material in the next year. We hope that all of you will come to understand this, and we appreciate your continued support while we plan the next phase of the future...
Three members of Quiet Out Loud have quit the band according to a blog post by ex-member Matt Lillie. I know what you're thinking, "who the fuck are these guys and why do I care?" Well, I'm with you ... I'm only posting it because someonethreatened to sue Zack for this same post and well, fuck that.
Then he proceeded to threaten me with physical violence while to claim everything as his own when the rest of the band including myself decided to go on with the show with a fill in. So that we didn’t hurt the bands reputation or let down fans. (picture below). Now last time I check a “good mature 28 year old man” doesn’t do this type of stuff. Also over the past few days he has proceeded...
In a Facebook post, Black Flag singer Ron Reyes says that during the band's Nov. 24 show he was effectively fired mid-set.
On November 24th 2013 the last night of the Australian Hits and Pits tour with two songs left in the set Mike V comes on stage stares me down, takes my mic and says "You're done, party's over get off it's over..." He said something else to me but it was a lie so I won't repeat it here. So with a sense of great relief that it was finally over I left the stage and walked to the hotel room. They finished the set with Mike V on vocals. There is much more that can and perhaps should be said. But for now I will spare you the gory details. The writing was on the wall since...
