P.O.S. has returned from his kidney transplant and will soon be playing shows again. Welcome back Stef.
He returns to the stage with his Doomtree crew Saturday at Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth on a now-annual hip-hop-meets-hippie-folk bill with Trampled by Turtles, an intrastate jaunt that also includes a warm-up gig Friday in Moorhead, Minn. He already delivered what he called a “tester” performance with Doomtree two weekends ago at the Green Line grand opening party in St. Paul, and he said it went well.
P.O.S will be releasing WDELH/MDS/RMX on October 22nd, exactly one year after releasing We Don't Even Live Here. He teamed up with Marijuana Deathsquads to remix the album. It'll be available for free on Rhymesayers and you can watch a video for the remixed "Lockpicks, Knives, Bricks, and Bats" in the replies.
P.O.S and Astronautalis have joined forces to form Four Fists. The duo's first release - a limited-edition 7-inch featuring two new songs, “Please Go” and “MMMMMHMMMMM" - is available for pre-order via Doomtree and will be pressed on blue, red, clear, and white variants. You can stream the new single, "MMMMMHMMMMM," in the replies. The release will be available on October 8th.
P.O.S’ latest album We Don’t Even Live Here debuted at #47 on the Billboard Top 200 chart (#8 Current Rap Album) this week, marking the highest debut of his career. You can also purchase the "Two Bum Kidneys" poster here.
Doomtree has announced their eighth annual BLOWOUT festival. It'll take place over three days (December 14-16, 2012) at First Avenue Mainroom in Minneapolis, MN. A video trailer and details can be found in the replies.
Burlesque Design and designer Emmanuel Mauléon of Minnesota Vice put together a 4 color poster which they're screenprinting to help raise funds for P.O.S' medical bills due to his impending kidney transplant surgery. You can check out the print here; it'll be available at P.O.S' record release show this Friday and available to the masses next week on Doomtree webstore.
Update: The chat is now over. Many thanks to Stef for chatting with us tonight. We Don't Even Live Here is in stores now.
P.O.S will be chatting in this thread at 7:30 pm EST/4:30 pm PST. Feel free to talk about his new album We Don't Even Live Here (check out Drew's review here), his many collaborations he's done, or if you are willing to donate a kidney for his operation.
P.O.S has to cancel his entire fall tour (with the exception of the First Avenue show on 10/26) and has to postpone future tour plans due to his need to have a kidney transplant. A video announcement is in the replies. Get well soon!
As you may or may not know, P.O.S. and Astronautalis are working on a collaboration album that should be out later this year. But until that day comes we have to listen to what the lyrical madmen have already given us. Head to the replies to watch the boys throw together "The Story of My Life" and "Hand Made Hand Gun" to tide you over for now.
