I got to see the wonderful Panic! At The Disco at the O2 Brixton Academy in London earlier this week. Head to the replies to check out a short review on why it was great and photos. You can check out the full album on the AbsolutePunk Flickr.
The Academy Is... has reunited for their Almost Here 10 year anniversary tour in which they are performing the album in its entirety. On the night after Christmas, the band was supported by PARTYBABY and Le Swish at The Observatory OC and gave a performance to remember. Check the replies for some of the highlights from the show!
I caught Our Last Night on their last stop of the Younger Dreams Tour. They put on an intense final show with supporting acts Palisades, Hail the Sun, and Picturesque at Chain Reaction in Anaheim on December 12. Check the replies for some of my favorite highlights from the show!
"Come on Chelsea, speak a little French to me, heard you spent two whole semesters drinking wine, while I was stuck in Jersey trying to save some money, I guess I'm just another thing you left behind."
Prior to the holidays, the fat American kind at least, I caught a sweet gig featuring The Smith Street Band and The Front Bottoms thanks to SideOneDummy. When this tour was announced, I couldn't wait to go. Everyone loves The Front Bottoms, especially the kewl Tumblr teens, but I was extra excited to catch The Smith Street Band in this particular hemisphere on their long journey from home, Melbourne.
The show did not disappoint. Catch a few shots as well as a gallery link after the jump.
Last week, we gave Minus the Bear a shot at our Disposable Diaries series (pun intended). They not only documented their time backstage, but were awesome enough to also snap some photos during their performance! Check the replies for a few highlights and view the full album on the AbsolutePunk Flickr.
Here’s the show review/photoset in case you missed it:
For the past month, Minus the Bear has been touring around the US for their Menos el Oso Tour. I caught the band, with supporting acts Murder by Death and Aero Flynn, at The Observatory OC last Friday night. Check the replies for some of my favorite highlights from the show and view the full gallery on our AbsolutePunk flickr!
For this new series called Disposable Diaries, we will be giving bands a disposable camera to document what it is like for them backstage. To kick off the series, Stalking Gia and Scavenger Hunt give us a preview of their shenanigans before their Orange County show. Check out some of the highlights in the replies and view the full album on the AbsolutePunk Flickr.
More than just opening acts, Stalking Gia and Scavenger Hunt brought electrifying performances to the Constellation Room on Wednesday night. With acts like that, they might as well be headlining their own tours. Take a peak at some of my favorite show highlights from the show in the replies!
Better late than never right? Austin's FunFunFunFest weirded things up the first weekend of November, which is not an easy feat. Austin is known for being weird but has been losing it's weirdness lately, so FFF is always a welcome celebration. The lineup is always killer with curated stages: Black for punk, Blue for hip hop and electronic, Yellow for comedy, and Orange for indie and pop. This year was no exception, especially in the case of me just never leaving the Black Stage forever.
Unfortunately, due to both weather and illness, I was only able to hang out on Day 2 of the festival, but that meant Archers of Loaf, American Nightmare, American Football, Gogol Bordello, and NOFX....
On Tuesday, I went to see Mitski on the last date of her first UK tour. Head to the replies to check out a short review on why it was great and photos. You can check out the full album on the AbsolutePunk Flickr.
I was fortunate enough to attend the Electric Factory Philadelphia date of CHVRCHES fall tour supporting their new album Every Open Eye. Hit the replies to check out my review of the show as well as a few photos I took.
