This is a GREAT tribute! The list of “worst” bands on our shitty-ass label reminds me JUST HOW GOOD our bands were and still are. Many of them still touring with fanbases bigger than ever! Fuck, me & Richard Reines have such good taste in music. And our branding was good enough to stand the test of time. They’re STILL talking about DTR 15+ years later. Bottom line: DTR AND OUR BANDS RULE! Hey, so does our former staff!

After 5 years, Richard and I seemed to have found the inspiration and desire to start again. For some reason we love to prove ourselves. The most exciting thing for us is to take something from nothing, and build it. That’s what we did with our label. It’s what we did with every band on our label. Now we’re getting the itch to do it again. We may not call it "Drive-Thru Records," but something is brewing!
Last night on The Gunz Show, Finch member R2K spoke with Gunz about the What It Is To Burn reunion shows, and their willingness to play them as long as Deryck wasn't allowed to be a part of it. Topics also included the set list and production of the show, and the steps the band took to finally all get together in a single room and decide to play shows again.

The Stellar Life is currently recording its debut album slated to be released on Drive Thru Records. I spoke with co-owner Richard Reines today and while the label will not be coming back like people may hope, he said they have things in the works but did not specify.
Gotta say, yesterday's discussion about the Drive-Thru Records' generation was one of the best moments I've had on the website in a long time. Talking with so many people that experienced similar things, hearing the stories, listening to the music again at the exact same moment I knew others were ... it was one of those days that really solidifies why I run a music website. Hearing from all the bands and people involved in the label, via twitter, email, facebook, and in the thread -- it was a special day. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that participated in it. Lots of stuff coming up today, so I've unstickied it - but the conversation is still going on.
Chances are, if you're over drinking age and you've been visiting this website for a while ... you're part of what I'm coining the Drive-Thru Records generation. For a large group of us - this label defined a good portion of our formative years. Reading over the past couple threads about the label showcases just what an attachment so many of us had with this label and their bands. This connection is part of the reason I think so many people are confused about just what the fuck happened to a label that seemed on top of their game. The first six Adelphi demos are up now on myspace, and the band will be making more of their catalog available in the coming weeks. Even though the band has called it quits, some of the members have started a new project called The Everlove; shows are in the works. Video footage from their farewell show is available in the replies.
Say No More have made two new songs, "Long Drive Home" and "This is Our Way," available for streaming on their myspace profile. The tracks are set to appear on the act's Drive-Thru Records debut, What You Thought You Knew, which is due out on October 30th via the label.

At The Sleeping tour stop in Chicago, I Am The Avalanche played two new songs; one of them was called "What Happened To The Brooklyn Dodgers?". After the show, I spoke with Vinnie and he said that the two new songs will be on the band's forthcoming album and that "Dodgers" will be online soon after they record the demo again.
