Newbury Comics will be releasing an exclusive vinyl version of the classic, Good News for People Who Love Bad News, by Modest Mouse. This will be a 2xLP set on green 120 gram vinyl, foil-stamp numbered and limited to only 1,000 pieces. It'll be released April 15th and available for pre-order now.
Modest Mouse hit the road this June for the Randalls Island, NYC Governors Ball Music Festival and the 2012 Orion Music + More festival in Atlantic City, NJ. Tonight's REM / Modest Mouse / The National show located at the Nikon @ Jones Beach Amphitheater was evacuated after lightning hit the facility, "causing sparks to fly from the building". One person sustained injuries, though the venue would not say whether the two incidents were related.

Two new Modest Mouse songs were recorded at the band's recent performance in Los Angeles. They're pretty rough recordings, but Idolator.com has them up for download right here. No song titles have been confirmed, but rumor has it they're called "People We Know" and "Dashboard". Mouse's upcoming album is slated for an early 2007 release.
Modest Mouse have announced a few dates in LA and New York for November. There will be a world tour following the release of their new album early next year. The live dates will be the first with new guitarist Johnny Marr, formerly of The Smiths.
