John Mayer will be releasing a new album this summer.
New record this Summer… Not a Born and Raised “plus”… A whole new group of songs to bring the whole thing up to date with Summer 2013. I have that hunger that always precedes something meaningful. See you all soon. And thanks for the warm welcome back to the stage. Getting back on it a little at a time.
John Mayer performed "Something Like Olivia" off of his latest album, Born and Raised, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He was interviewed as well and spoke about his recent vocal problems, his recent relationship with Katy Perry and confirmed they're no longer together. The videos can be found in the replies.
The entire John Mayer Google+ video feed can be found in the replies. It includes a performance of a new song, "Dear Marie," (no word if he wants to be counted in). John will also be on the cover of the next Billboard magazine.
John Mayer sat down with Rolling Stone and talked about his voice, a forthcoming return tour, and dating Katy Perry.
I just became more settled in as a person. I would rather not be settled in as a person instead of playing music all the time, to be honest with you. But that wasn't an option. I wasn't going to be able to just visualize myself as a musician. You know, when you visualize yourself as a musician, you can make a lot of apologies for the little weird, interpersonal things you have with people. And when you don't have that, you go, "OK, let's focus in on the fact that the people I see today, I'm going to see tomorrow.
John Mayer is releasing a five song EP exclusively on iTunes, with four in studio performances and a new unreleased song from the Born and Raised sessions, entitled "Go Easy on Me." He will also be having surgery next month to remove the granuloma in his vocal chords.
Prior to complications with his throat granuloma, John Mayer recorded an acoustic in-studio video for "Queen Of California" which can be seen in the replies. The official video for the single will air in July.
John Mayer's informative interview with NPR, which covers his new album, his controversial comments from a few years back, as well as his future plans, can be heard here.
