Set Your Goals vocalist Matt Wilson did an in-depth interview with Lambgoat, where he discusses the band's old label, Eulogy Recordings, and how they've never paid out royalties for Mutiny!; he also gets into other aspects of the band's bumpy past. Certain tidbits are very interesting: Epitaph Records paid over $100,000 to buy out the band's contract from Eulogy, SYG got interest from Pete Wentz but that ended after a bizarre mishap, and the band is proud of Burning At Both Ends but acknowledges that fans "deserved better." He even mentions the vague possibility of Mutiny! 10-year shows in 2016. The full interview can be read here.
Tensions between band and label at this point were at...

Matt from Set Your Goals has posted an update on the band's Facebook filling us in with what the band's been up to.
On a related note, I've gotten a ton of angry messages asking for an answer on the status of the band. The truth is, we just don't know the future for certain and don't want to get people's hopes up or give any information that could end up being untrue. As a band, we are laying low for a while and busy individually with our adult lives. We haven't "broken up" per se, we're just focusing on other things for the time being. Here's what we've been up to:
-Dan got married and will be moving to Atlanta, GA, next month.
-Joe recently moved to Portland, OR, and plays in a band...

Set Your Goals vocalist Matt Wilson has started a new band called Chains. Listen to their first song, "Cages," in the replies. Their debut EP, The Sorrow, The Sadness, will be out in early 2015 through Calaveras Records.
I am equal parts darkness and light, and I have always had ideas that wouldn’t quite work for Set Your Goals; either the lyrics were too dark or the parts were too aggressive. Chains is an outlet for that. Once Set Your Goals slowed down I was able to put my ideas into motion. I grew up listening to extreme music, and this project is more in line with those tastes.

To those asking, we won't be playing any shows. Sorry if the "Reset" reissue got anyone's hopes up. Just wanted to do something cool. -Matt

Matt Wilson of Set Your Goals recently opened up about the band's hardships with their label, dealing with the release of their new album, and how this will be the band's "make or break" album that may decide the future of the band.
InterviewIf things slow down for us, regardless of the reason, we will probably attempt to piece together the lives we left at home 6 years ago when we first started touring. This doesn’t necessarily mean we’d break up but we would stop touring full time. Maybe do a tour or two a year and a festival here and there, maybe not. It’s a bridge we’ll cross when we get to it, but I will say that in many ways this is a “make or break” album for us. The...
