Ryan Adams' performance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah (who I think has been pretty good so far, and makes me crazy jealous at how well he can wear a suit) can be found here, here, and here.

Anna Leszkiewicz, writing for New Statesmen, takes a look at the way some music critics tackled Ryan Adams' 1989:
The media’s most highbrow music critics, the same ones who barely batted an eye at Swift’s release, have rushed forward to gush over Adams’s transformation of a cheesy pop album into something more serious. In the words of American Songwriter, Adams is “bestowing indie-rock credibility” on Swift’s album, potentially even “showing her up by revealing depth and nuance in the songs” and “giving her a master class in lyrical interpretation”. The New Yorker’s review of Adams’s 1989 (it’s worth noting that the magazine did not review Taylor Swift’s album at all), is headlined...

Ryan Adams and Taylor Swift talked with Zane Lowe today about 1989. During the interview Taylor admitted she's been listening to the album so much she's started singing his melodies instead of the originals by accident. Ryan also notes he's already finished his next album ... a double LP. Because he's a machine.

Twelve years ago, Ryan Adams was performing at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, when a fan decided to heckle Ryan to play Bryan Adams' forever timeless hit, "Summer of '69." Ryan Adams twelve years ago didn't care too much for this, ripping into the concert attendee and kicking him out of the show (refunding his money of course). That brings us to last night, where Ryan was playing the Ryman Auditorium once again, this time in a better state of mind and better spirit. Ryan finally covered Bryan's hit song just a mere 12 years later to the fans approval -- the video is in the replies.

Steven Hyden pens an interesting look at Ryan Adams:
If anything, Ryan Adams disproves this thesis. This is Adams in buckle-down-and-study mode, and the methodology didn’t produce a masterpiece; it resulted in another Ryan Adams album, though that ought to be enough. In my 2011 interview, Adams complained about how his latest work is constantly dismissed in comparison to his old work, even when that old work was itself dismissed in its time: “I made Love Is Hell, and people panned it really unnecessarily; there was harshness around it. Then, only a little bit of time passed, and people would fucking bring that record up as something I wasn’t doing, which is why my current records were...
