Tegan and Sara have written a long blog about their travels over the world and how they've seen the world becoming more accepting of LGBTQ rights over the course of their career.
This year we have spent time in many countries we have never toured before. Many do not have legislation that protects or even acknowledges the rights or existence of gay and transgendered people. Our fans in those cities and countries are so very much like those everywhere we go in the world. Some of those people, kids who look just like we do, are afraid to associate with our band because of the implication. Imagine it being a risk to attend a Tegan and Sara concert?
Talk about an unforgettable performance. I could talk in circles all day about how much emotion Tegan and Sara put into their live show, but you probably already know if youíre seen them or heard their records. 14 years in and the Quin sisters have truly never sounded better. Not to mention the perfect mix of old favorites and new tunes crafted the ideal set list. Between Whatís Eating Gilbertís always entertaining and rocking performance to Tegan and Saraís unwavering chemistry, emotion, and control, this was a night for the books.
Last night during her show at Staples Center in Los Angeles, Taylor Swift invited Tegan and Sara to join her on stage and perform the duo's hit single, "Closer," together. Video of the epic collaboration can be seen in the replies.
