This tour has been great. Every show was fun. We had a blast with every crowd, every night. Until last night. One of the reasons that we stopped doing this band for a year was because we didn’t like the vibe at the shows. There are some people that genuinely connect with the music in one way or another, and then there are dick heads that seem to get off on ruining everyone’s night. I remember a friend of mine told me that I didn’t need to break our band up. I just needed to remember that at the end of the day, I don’t owe anyone a single thing. We went into this tour...

The last record was just kind of like, “This is what this is about.” I feel like if you’re a fan of the band and follow our records, you know that I’ve always harped on the same subject and I’m not embarrassed or ashamed of that. I’m gonna write about what I wanna write about and I didn't want to be like, “OK, now that I’ve been writing about this I have to keep writing about it.” So I let myself feel out the songs; I wanted to touch on certain topics, but maybe not so specific as, say, mortality. There’s definitely been topics that are the same for most of the songs but it’s also a different take on...
Epitaph Records and their sister label Anti Records are looking for fall and winter interns. You have to be a current college student and live in the Los Angeles area. If you're interested, shoot an email to: email@example.com.
The Guardian recently interviewed newly signed Epitaph artist, Jamie T, about his five year absence, what he's been doing, his new album and there's even a little mention of Absolutepunk.net itself. You can also hear album track "Turn On The Light" there too.
The Ghost Inside will release their fourth full-length album, Dear Youth on November 17th via Epitaph Records. Hit the replies to check out the title track, "Dear Youth (Day 52)" in the replies. You can learn more about the record by checking out my Warped Tour interview with vocalist Jonathan Vigil here.
“It’s a very strange phenomenon,” Ness said. “Most bands that have been around 35 years, their heyday was 35 years ago and they’re still trying to live off that. For us, it was the opposite. Back then we were struggling, guys in a van going across the country broke. It just kind of evolves and progresses, and we’re really fortunate that way.”
When we wrote and recorded our first record, it was before "Defend Pop Punk" and that type of shit. Once it came out, we were very embraced by that community, and we weren’t necessarily comfortable with that. So we kind of made this reactionary record where it sort of focused on what we weren’t good at, and trying to succeed that way. But yeah, you should just make a record you want to make and not think about people’s expectations.
You can read our interview with This Wild Lifehere. The band is currently on the Warped Tour, and will be releasing more video content in the fall, as well as writing new material. The band will also be one of the opening acts on Sleeping With Sirens and Pierce The Veil's winter co-headling tour.
We’re going to do a really large U.S. Tour in the winter that isn’t going to allow us to do any fall touring because of Warped Tour’s radius clause. So we’ll be home and we’ve discussed doing some different things. We’re definitely going to put out more video content in that time, we’ll be writing more because we want to get ahead of the next record – our record’s been out for a month now,...
Considering its caffeinated, soused, sweet, and wired music, it’s fitting Joyce Manor was consecrated over an alcoholic energy drink. And as a kind of quintessential California suburb, the physical and conceptual “Torrance” is the perfect place to inspire a perfect summer rock album, i.e., Joyce Manor’s new LP, Never Hungover Again, released today. Most people drawn to this music formed their idea of “summer” at a time in one’s life when summer was significantly different from the rest of the year — Johnson describes his own as consisting of “backyard shows, everyone would be skateboarding, chased off by security guards, throwing water...
