Terror have fulfilled their obligations with Century Media, who licensed the band's last two albums to Victory Records, and are now "free of all contracts."
"Nick had also mentioned to me today he already wrote a few new songs that he thinks I'm going to love. This for sure gets me siked. Terror has now finally fulfilled all contracts with all record labels and the future is wide open for us. We signed a 4 record 'deal' with Century Media, I don't know - 9 years ago or something like that, but we have delivered them all the records (CM licensed the last two to Victory [Records] in the USA) and now we are free of all contracts. This is super exciting for us and opens up a lot of different...
I recently spoke to Mikey Carvajal, lead vocalist of Islander, while the band was wrapping up their tour with Korn and Suicide Silence. During our conversation, Carvajal reveals that the band's next record is a concept record, titled Holy. You can catch the band on a short holiday tour with Heartist starting tomorrow - dates are in the replies. You can read the interview here.
Update: Just heard from Victory Records. Regarding the resolution, they stated:
Nobody’s job was ever in jeopardy. Tony was speaking rhetorically when he was quoted. We’re glad to have our content back on Spotify, and that we came to a good resolution that works for everybody, ensuring that our fans can listen to the music they love on Spotify and that all of our artists and songwriters are paid for their work.
The International Business Times is reporting that an email Tony Brummel sent to staff indicates that Victory Records will have to lay off staff if they're not paid by Spotify.
Nearly two weeks after Spotify pulled all of his artists’ and songwriters’ music off its service, Victory Records founder Tony Brummel says that unless his label’s catalog is placed back on Spotify soon, he will be forced to begin laying off staff and dropping artists. “They are over 70 percent of our monthly digital sales,” Brummel wrote in an email circulated to undisclosed recipients Friday. “Sorry to curse but in a few months -- I am f---ed.”
I'll be speaking with Mikey Carvajal, lead vocalist of Islander later today when they hit the House of Blues in Las Vegas, NV, as part of Korn's 20th Anniversary tour for their 1995 debut album. Feel free to drop any questions you may have in the replies.
Having received notices from Victory objecting to the release of the infringing Toh Kay album, Kalnoky informed the label that the band considers itself no longer bound by the 2002 agreement, according to the complaint. Victory seeks more than $1 million in damages for the band's failure to deliver a fourth studio album, pursuant to its record contract, and damages for copyright infringement.
Amidst an ongoing royalties dispute, Spotify has removed thousands of songs from bands signed to Victory Records.
Based on an audit by a small technology company called Audiam Inc., Another Victory says that Spotify hasn’t paid publishing royalties for the compositions underlying thousands of recordings that Spotify users have listened to millions of times over the past several years.

Each person is doing something for the band. Some bands just hand everything over to someone else and they're like "Here, take care of all the work", but we don't do that and we're always on tour, so 24 hours in a day is almost not enough for us, we go above and beyond that. That's what I saw right away, and I thought it was a great album title.
We've teamed up with Victory Records to celebrate the upcoming Vans Warped Tour by giving away autographed merch from both Close Your Eyes and Terror. With both artists performing all summer long, here"s what we want to know -- what date of Warped Tour will you be attending and what songs are you most looking forward to hearing played by the two bands? One winner will be selected randomly from the replies to win an autographed copy of Terror's Live By The Code, a Terror t-shirt, a copy of Close Your Eyes’ Line In The Sand, a Line In The Sand poster, and a Close Your Eyes t-shirt. Good luck.
I feel a little need to speak out. Let's get this straight ... Emmure is MY blood sweat and tears ..MY band born from my thoughts and my hard work and writing (I'm sure you can see the change from early Emmure to now so if they say they wrote it you know it's a lie; I was actually forced to say it was an even split wether it was money or writing credits) it will never be theirs as much as they can fake it that's all it is .. fake. To see what Frank [Palmeri] is doing to me and my family's hard work is absolutely disgusting. I love Mark [Davis], we hang all the time and...
Victory Records would like to share their cooking tips with you by sharing this "Let Me Teach You How to Eat" video. If you were dying to see your creepy uncle sing a crappy song with a video treatment that your 12 year old cousin came up with ... there you go. Happy Thanksgiving.
Close Your Eyes have announced Sam Robinson as their new vocalist. The band is currently in the studio with producer Cameron Webb (Alkaline Trio, Silverstein). Their new album, Line in the Sand, is due out in October via Victory Records.
We are very excited to finally be able to share with everyone that Sam Robinson is the vocalist of Close Your Eyes. I’m already blown away by the new material that we have been working on - his voice is a very strong addition to the CYE family. He is an incredible vocalist and a great guy that shares our vision and purpose. We cannot wait for everyone to hear the new songs and to be back on tour again. Come hang out and say what's up to Sam!
