In the recent podcast with Bret Easton Ellis, Kanye West talked a little about Zappos.com, and how they were putting out a "shit product" -- the company has responded by actually selling a "shit product." Umm ... got um?
Kanye West gave a talk at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. You can watch a video of it here, and a transcript has been typed up here. After the talk Kanye gave the entire class tickets to his show.
How does the community feel about vinyl bootlegs? For example: Kanye West's Graduation (to my knowledge) has never officially been pressed. However, Vinyl-Digital has pre-orders up for a limited edition purple pressing.
Kanye West is getting the Yeezus tour back on track beginning November 16th in Philadelphia. However, only three of the derailed dates have been rescheduled (Chicago, Toronto and Detroit). The rest (Vancouver, Denver, Columbus, Montreal, Minneapolis, and St. Louis) have been cancelled altogether. The re-schedule is on his website.
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are suing the leaker of their engagement video, who, it turns out, was Chad Hurley (one of the co-founders of YouTube).
The couple's lawsuit states Chad Hurley wasn't invited to the elaborate Oct. 21 proposal at San Francisco's AT&T Park, but was allowed to stay because he signed an agreement not to post any video or images from the event. West allowed other cameras to film the event for possible broadcast on E! Entertainment Television, home to his fiancee's show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," according to the suit.
Kanye West's Yeezus tour continues to be plagued by equipment issues, this time due a crash en route to Vancouver involving one of the tour's equipment trucks. According to Kanye's publicist the accident damaged the tour's "custom-made video truss and 60-ft circular LED screen" so badly that the gear is "beyond repair." As a result, last night's Vancouver show was postponed as well as the shows scheduled for Denver and Minneapolis. There is no word yet as to whether more dates of the tour will be affected.
As part of the promotion for his show in the area tonight, Kanye West sat down for an interview with Los Angeles radio station Power 106 this morning. He mentioned in the interview that there's a good chance that five previously unreleased tracks from the Yeezus sessions will see the light of day "before the end of the year."
Even if you're a fan of his music, it's easy to write off Kanye West's numerous public rants this year--whether at hisconcerts, another artist's listening party, or via Twitter--as mere publicity stunts, aimless babbling, or whatever. But if you read between the lines and actually think about the topics he's been bringing up during the Yeezus album cycle--including in his music--and especially if you paid attention to his interview with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, it's increasingly obviously that writing Kanye's rants off as such is in fact a lazy misrepresentation of what he's been trying to do.
Further proof of this emerged last night when Kanye sat down with Jimmy Kimmel to clear the...
Following on the heels of their highly publicized Twitter feud, Jimmy Kimmel and Kanye West are set to either reconcile or take the feud to another level face-to-face on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight. Be sure to tune in, as it seems very unlikely that we won't get at least a few classic Kanyeisms out of this appearance.
You can now watch the third part of Kanye West's interview with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe as well as the fourth part. I don't know about you, but this is one of the more fascinating interviews I've heard/read in a while.
Oh hey, Miley Cyrus news that doesn't involve "twerking." According the New York Post (I know, I know), Cyrus teamed up with Kanye West after the VMAs to record a "Black Skinhead" remix that'll allegedly appear on an upcoming remix EP. I guess we'll see.
If you've ever questioned how much influence Kanye West has on the music industry and fans, this should put it into perspective. A few nights ago, Kanye made a guest appearance at Travi$ Scott's show to perform "New Slaves" at the El Ray Theatre in Los Angeles. Jump to the replies to watch the frenzy that followed.
In a new interview, Rick Rubin stated that Kanye West recorded enough music for another full album while working on Yeezus. This should all be taken with a grain of salt considering how much material Kanye records for each album that never sees the light of day.
Initially, he thought there were going to be 16 songs on the album. But that first day, before he even asked me to work on it, I said, “Maybe you should make it more concise. Maybe this is two albums. Maybe this is just the first half.” That was one of the first breakthroughs. Kanye was like, “That’s what I came here today to hear! It could be 10 songs!”
It's official: Kanye West's new album "Yeezus" debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 327,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's the biggest week for a rap album since Drake's "Take Care" arrived with 631,000 at No. 1 in November of 2011.
According to an Reddit AMA with producer Mike Dean, Kanye West will be taking Yeezus out on the road. Dean is also a member of West's touring band. Dean also confirmed that there would be a Watch The Throne 2 last week during his interview with The Huffington Post.
The rumors that Kanye West was making an American Psycho inspired short film for his new album, Yeezus, have been confirmed. Kanye premiered the short film last night in Los Angeles at one of his projections. Head to the replies to check out a video someone captured.

I think you got to make your case. Seventh grade, I wanted to be on the basketball team. I didn’t get on the team, so that summer I practiced. I was on the summer league. My team won the championship; I was the point guard. And then when I went for eighth grade, I practiced and I hit every free throw, every layup, and the next day I looked on this chart, and my name wasn’t on it. I asked the coach what’s up, and they were like, “You’re just not on it.” I was...
