I like practically every band except for Ensiferum and I've never heard of Blackguard before. I don't have to worry about Ensiferum though because they're not playing my date.

Blackguard have a pretty sick song but I can't remember what it's called though. They're not really heavy at all. It's basically Dragonforce with screaming.

I just looked them up and I'm listening to one of their songs at the moment. It's pretty good actually. Doesn't sound like death metal though like this one kid told me they were, haha.

I think it's more along the lines of black metal if I'm correct.

Eh, I wouldn't even call them that really, but at the same time, I have no idea what else you could label them as. Genres suck.

Mostly becaause people are fucking stupid and have no idea what bands are what genres and which they aren't. Like the kid who thinks Trivium is metalcore.
