Make Do and Mend Set for 2012 Full-Length Release on Rise
Make Do and Mend will release a full-length album on Rise Records in 2012, as announced in AltPress' list of 2012's most anticipated album releases. It is estimated for a summer release. The record will be the band's first for Rise and recording will begin February 20 with producer Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Rocky Votolato, Botch).

Thanks for posting this Thomas.

Haha, so Jay was right after all.
Great news. |
Matt Bayles is doing the new Cursive record due this winter. For anyone who doesn't know, he was in Minus the Bear and did the keys/synths on Highly Refined Pirates. He's produced, written, and played on a lot of great records.
MDAM have so much potential, End Measured Mile was great. I hope they don't blow it. I would hate to see this band embrace the Four Year Strong/A Day to Remember/whatever awful-ass bullshit is consuming bands these days. Here's to hoping, instead, for a killer record. |

Either way, really enjoyed the acoustic EP. curious to see where they go with this. Still don't see how they fit in with the rest of the Wave, as the styles aren't even close. |
Lol cwhit just called someone a douchey elitist lol.

I don't expect it, but I'm scared for all of these "new" bands. The temptation to put out a worthless record and cash in on a generation of dumb ass kids is just so large. It's so easy to do, and, until MDAM really establish themselves, it's a worry of mine. Though, a tour with Thursday, meWithoutYou, Aficionado.. covering Touche Amore.. endorsement from La Dispute, Pianos, etc.. that should erase that fear. Here's to hoping it's fucking awesome! |

Don't always agree with ACA but I do here. What the hell are you talking about? |

I hate this thread already.

Haha yes |
I don't like some of the recent signings but I admire Rise Records. And because of that, they made me give Transit and A Loss For Words a second chance and I got a pair of great records. The guy does it right. Even the bands I personally hate, he treats right. Such a great label.

The staff really need to invest in a shock collar for cwhit.

Before that, who have they toured with? I don't recall seeing them ever headline the NYC-area? |
These guys never disappoint.
|
Congrats! Love End Measured Mile. Still need to cop the acoustic EP.

Also, this is nothing short of incredible and I haven't been this excited for a record since the hype for Daisy or Blue Sky Noise... |

MDAM on RISE?
|
now if only people would stop calling this band post-hardcore
|
I have a good feeling that Matt Bayles isn't going to stand for some of the subpar moments that hurt MDAM from time to time. The guy is really, really on-point, and, from what I've heard from bands who work with him, he's not afraid to get his hands dirty and really make a band kill themselves for their best possible sound.
I wonder if it will be a "summer record", with a release date so close to summer. |
Rise is probably my favorite record now. I don't even care.
|
Congrats, hope these guys do good on Rise, also they're getting some really great signings lately.
