Jason Dunn Leaves Hawk Nelson
Update: I just spoke to Jason, who mentioned his last show with the band will be May 6th, in Norcross, GA. - Jake
Lead singer Jason Dunn is leaving Hawk Nelson to pursue his other project, Lights Go Down, who are currently recording with Steve Kravic. Submitted by strifeman6 |
Well, they might as well break up now.

I dug 'Letters To The President' as a teenager. Every album after that seemed to be more cheesy and mellowed out to appease (what I'm assuming) the parents of the kids listening to them. The majority of their catalog is something to be embarrassed of lyrically.

bummer! they cant replace that dude!
|
is he that good of a singer that hes going solo?? not sure this is the right move
|
What a bummer. Hawk Nelson is doomed.
|
haha I have almost all of their albums, and like him...but them without his cheesiness could actually find a good fan base if they get a good singer.
I think they only have one founding member now? 2? I kind of stopped paying attention. Their first couple albums were great fun. |

RIP Hawk Nelson...

I used to listen to this band. They lost me after Smile! It's the End of the World, and since then I haven't really listened to any of their stuff.
This probably spells the end for them, anyway. |
I liked them when I was younger, but with each album they put out I lost a little more interest in them. It really is time for them to split up, Steingard can go do his solo stuff too, which wasn't half bad.

i liked a few songs off LTTP, and a few less on SITEOTW. and none after that. im digging the acoustic live versions on his facebook of the songs for his new project way more then anything hes done in a while

Whaaaat? That sucks, I love Hawk Nelson. Dude is gonna be tough to replace. Sure, their lyrics aren't the best but the music is fun as hell.

Hawk Nelson is a great band--heck, I grew up on them...their most recent cd wasnt anything great, but otherwise they didnt disappoint.
I wonder what this means for the rest of the band. |
