Adam Duritz of Counting Crows Remains Awesome

Well, this is all kinds of awesome: Adam Duritz of Counting Crows gave a shout out to AP.net in the liner notes of their brand new album Underwater Sunshine (or what we did on our summer vacation), which is now available. Thank you Adam!
Excerpt...If this record does one thing for you, I hope it gets you to check out some of the incredible musicians we stole all this inspiration from. It'll make me glad if it does. Find them on the blogs. Music ain't dead. People who really love music are out there bringing it to you. They fill my ears with it every day on sites like Ryan's Smashing Life (RSLblog.com), Daytrotter.com, Katie Darby Recommends (katiedarbyrecommends.blogspot.com) , AbsolutePunk.net, and a million others. Dig it people!

That is pretty fucking awesome. I know that a number of punk/pop-punk bands have shown love for the site before, but this takes it to a whole different level.

Duritz is just a fucking awesome dude all around. Makes awesome music, dates babes, cares about his fans...

What am I doing with my life?

Wow! this is huge, and very unexpected. I would obviously expect a band like The Wonder Years or Lydia to include AP in their liner notes, but Counting Crows? Crazy.

this record is really good also, he covers "like teenage gravity" by kasey anderson (one of the best songwriters in the country, IMO) and instead of just paying the songwriting royalties to anderson he took him and his band on tour and has really brought him to the next level in the songwriting game. duritz seems like a real good guy
