Additional Info About Destroy Nate Allen
Additional Info About Destroy Nate Allen:
Since 2007, married couple Nate and Tessa Allen joined forces as "Destroy Nate Allen" an interactive, sing-a-long, folk punk band. In these five years, they have set foot in forty-eight states, released six full length albums, and played over 700 shows. Their process has allowed them to do (almost) everything in their power to show people a good time with simply two voices and a guitar.
Destroy Nate Allen decided to try something different for their seventh full length, With Our Powers Combined. They asked Gnarboots (Asian Man Records: former members of Link 80 + Shinobu) to add a full band dose of crazy - and it worked!
With Our Powers Combined features DNA’s fun captured in a whole new and stunning form. The album was fan funded via kickstarter album pre-orders, and was then recorded to 2” tape by Jack Shirley (Comadre) at The Atomic Garden (Classics of Love, Joyce Manor, Broadway Calls).
“We have a blast traveling together and playing rock n’ roll, but we’ve had trouble capturing our live energy so we asked our friends for help,” stated Nate. “We flew to the Bay Area and tracked fifteen songs in three days. We were able bring in a horn section (SKA!!!!) to pull off wild concepts that went beyond the scope of our traditional stripped down approach. We are proud of the album and we can’t wait to show everyone!”
Destroy Nate Allen plan to be on tour the better part of 2012 supporting the release. They’ll probably be in your town soon. You can pre-order the full length on destroynateallen.com.
Splint & Never again
Here’s a short intro about Splint ! and Never again :
So we are Splint !, a hardcore punk band from Dijon « la moutarde », France, including former Krapnek/red cold seasons/time will tell members (if by any weird chance you’ve heard of them). The band was originally called « los Burritos but after several wrist/shin/fibula injuries, we finally chose Splint !
We played a few gigs in the North East Of France, in Lyon Paris and Switzerland, with bands like RVIVR, Not on Tour (awesome hardcore punk from Tel Aviv, check it out !) ; Caves, Zombies are pissed, Elizabeth (former-Nostromo), reconcile or Membrane.
It Took a while for us but we finally released this first CD.
It can either be ordered (orchidscent records) or dowloaded (http://oldschoolrecords.bandcamp.com...deadly-rhythm).
And so about Never Again :
After a rad BBQ at Poum’s from Kazan (Post hardcore band from Dijon, Summer 2011 if that’s sound hepful) Fred and Bébert started a weekly drums and guitar jam, quickly joined by Biro on the second guitar .
After hesitating between fast screamo (brought by Bebert, who played in a hard and sad band called who needs map, and releases dozens of raw & emotional CDs/LPs through orchid scent records) and 90’s Hardcore (inspired by 59 times the pan, burning heads, raised fist , Brought by Biro from Nevers hardcore city). After Romain (who also sing with Splint !)took the bass. We made something on our own.
After a short recording session at the Abbey Rand Studio, we played a few gigs in France with bands like Fight & fire, crossing the rubicon, la casa fantom…
The Cd can be ordered through Orchidscent and dowloaded at http://oldschoolrecords.bandcamp.com...-deadly-rhythm
Keep it up !!

Hi! I'm from a band called Cliff Letters. Someone should review either of our two albums: Drive Smart 2011 and Letters. They're fairly lo-fi; recorded all on my phone using an 8 track recording app. The first one was made as a contribution to a school awareness project, and the second one was recorded as a letter to my friend with suicidal depression. It was only officially released 3 or 4 months after I sent it to her. I'm really interested about what people might think/feedback people have.
For The Life Of Me - Portland, OR
recorded with Stephan Hawkes at Interlace Audio
up for splint & never again ;)
