Follow-Up: The Menzingers Robbery

In a follow-up to The Menzingers' robbery story, Banquet Records has announced they are matching all donations.

Wow, classy move by Banquet Records.

PirateSkater182 05/03/12 12:53 PM

Such a shitty situation. I hope they get back all of their belongings and then some.

NateFoundGlory 05/03/12 12:53 PM

:appl: bravo, Banquet. Hope everything gets sorted out nice and proper.

Woah, that's some awesome shit.

LivingTheLyrics 05/03/12 12:59 PM

I haven't heard a single thing about Banquet Records that hasn't been awesome.

Just sent in £100. Probably like $200 American, but these dudes kept me alive during a very dark period in my life. It's the least i can do.

zachff 05/03/12 01:04 PM

Looks like they matched up to a certain point and aren't anymore, but that's awesome. Great label.

nickstetina 05/03/12 01:10 PM

Noble indeed.

Speaking on The Menzingers, I can't tell if it's the shirt that's weird, or the boobs. Or, both. Or, me.

Charlesieiy 05/03/12 01:10 PM

Apparently they've raised about $2100 for them already. Fucking incredible label, top notch.

StephenYoung 05/03/12 01:13 PM

I can't believe how fast the support is for these guys. Really uplifting.

ugman_2000 05/03/12 01:15 PM

Such an awesome gesture by those guys. They're definitley one of if not the best record store in the uk & run by the coolest dudes, they do so much for the punk/indie scene in the uk & put on so many good shows/in-stores.

This is a great idea and I'm glad it worked out. But Jason, they were burglarized, not robbed. Nobody held them at gun or knifepoint and demanded money, they broke into their car and stole it. I hate to be a douche like that but there's a huge difference, even though both suck.

They had stuff, they don't have stuff anymore because someone took it. Where is the 'huge difference'? So there isn't the psychological trauma of 'a guy just stuck a gun to my head' but other than that its basically the same thing.

Also Banuqet Records isn't matching all donations, they apparently ran out of the matched money within 30 minutes. It was still a great gesture on their part and nice to see all the fans come to their support. But it clearly says that on the link, so I doubt anyone will be confused. (Plus who is gonna nbe like "well I would donate $10 to these guys if someone else did... but now I'm just not gonna give them anything")
