Future Of The Left's new album The Plot Against Common Sense will be released on 11th June via Xtra Mile Recordings.
These guys are still around??? Thought they were sucked into a black hole! I have "Travels With Myself" and bought it purely after it getting a good review. Knew nothing of them, still know little now! Will wait for the reviews for this one. Freeze The Atlantic will give away debut album Speakeasy with Rock Sound magazine in August. Thought I read ' Lower Than Atlantis'. Last month Rock Sound gave away a decent debut album by some unknown band so I might pick up this one too. It's amazing to think this is what new music has been resigned to: debut albums given away free with magazines... shame. Suppose it's the only way now. Pre-order Futures' new record The Karma Album here. The album is set for a 17th June release. I swear these guys have been talked about, and toured, for like the past two years. I've certainly seen them twice as support acts... can't remember much about them. How long have they been working on this?? Will have to give it a listen. |
Was lighter than I thought it would be but I really liked it:
Not too sure about the video though :/ |
Futures recorded the album with Gil Norton and were gonna release it thru a major (which I can't remember) but after debates with the record label and being dropped this album was pushed back much further than anticipated. Anyway the album looks to be shaping up well (singles on it) and they are a great bunch of lads, so everyone should check it out.
Also great to see Fighting with Wire eventually bring out a second album, hope its as good as Man Vs monster |

Freeze The Atlantic feature members of Reuben and Hundred Reasons. Pretty much nailed on to be a great record. Also, the 'unknown band' in last month's RS was Burn The Fleet. Hope you gave it a go because they're a bloody fantastic band. Yeah, Futures were around years ago as a band called Tonight Is Goodbye (man, I feel old) and gave away their debut album (again, with Rock Sound I think) a couple of years ago. Pretty sure it's knocking around for free download online so it's definitely worth jumping on that. Quote:
Yes, yes, yes. Great news, great band. Especially considering the seemed to be on the road to splitting before Xtra Mile picked them up. |
Great live band as well, I saw them when they supported Biffy back in 2007 (with Frightened Rabbt, which was amazing may I add) yeah forgot about TIG 'Black Dress' was a bit of a tune as well.
