The Decemberists shall have a cameo on an episode of The Simpsons called "The Day The Earth Stood Still." Colin Meloy revealed the news through a tweet. The episode will air December 2nd at 8pm EST on Fox.

Cool band to have, but The Simpsons has been relying too much on guest stars the past few years in my opinion.

The Simpsons went wrong when guest stars started playing themselves, not just voicing new characters in the Simpsons' world.

As much as I love the simpsons, ide say they've been doing it a lot longer than that.
