Neoclassical Music
could you guys recommend me some good neoclassical songs/artists, per chance? I'm looking for something in the vein of Olafur Arnalds or A Winged Victory for the Sullen. the thing is (and I'm sure there must be a better way to put this), but I'm looking for something fairly euphonious and peaceful and, well, pretty. now, I know "pretty" is a subjective term, but I guess I'm not looking for anything really intense or dark. just a lot of emphasis on calming. something that would calm your nerves if you were feeling really stressed or something like that.
just kind of an example of what I'm looking for. thanks in advance! edit: also, I know that bands like A Winged Victory... might technically be considered more post-rock than "neoclassical," so I apologize for that. post-rock suggestions are cool too! |
get Rachel's discography, start with Music For Egon Schiele
Max Richter's Blue Notebooks is pretty good too here's a Rachel's song (yes, it was in a horrible movie, get over it haha): |
Carlos Cipa.
He's on Denovali. |
Olafur Arnalds is good. Used to listen to this style a a couple years ago.
Balmorhea (besides their new album) Eluvium's - An Accidental Memory in Case of Death |
Tiago Benzinho

Look through Ryuichi Sakamoto's discography, he's got some ambient stuff but a lot of his album are neoclassical pieces, in particular stuff from BTTB
And also anything by Phillip Glass |
Oh fuck, nobody listed World's End Girlfriend yet. like c'mon guys.

What he said. Plus Max Richter. Lots and lots of Max Richter. And the tumbled sea. |
I know you said nothing dark or intense, but I'm a bit of a rebel, see, so enjoy [The] Slowest Runner [In All The World]:
