Yeah. This could've used a similar tone to Cabin in the Woods. I'll probably see what the reviews have to say about this before deciding if I want to see it. As terrifying as it may be, it's going to be hard to take an angry molesting tree seriously in the context of a serious horror movie.

It doesn't have the same feel. They better have the demon screams from the girl in the basement for at least 10 minutes at a time like the original.

Original Evil Dead really did not have any comedic elements. I think this movie is probably going for that tone.
