Stephen Lynch - Lion
New album from comedian/musician, Steven Lynch out November 13th
![]() I've always loved this guy... anyone else? |
Haven't heard his name in awhile! Glad to see he's back with new material.
|
I've only listened to the first few tracks, but it's pretty funny stuff...
I saw him live a years ago with Mitch Hedberg... one of the funniest nights of my life |
Seen him live twice. He's hilarious but his "studio album" (I think that was the last one) wasn't as funny to me as the last one. Will definitely check this out though!
|
His live stuff is definitely better than his studio albums. His Live at the El Rey DVD is one of my favorites.

Holy crap. |
He was funny when I was in middle school, now I think his stuff is just gross. Hopefully he has more tasteful humor after 10 years on broadway
|
Hope this is good! His last album was a bit of a letdown. More live, less studio.

I actually had the priviledge of seeing Mitch live twice... The other time was with Lewis Black and Dave Attell... both great performances... The second time I saw him was with Lynch, and Mitch was drunk as fuck... He had a glass of OJ in one hand and a glass of vodka in the other... for a good portion of the show, he was lying down on the stage telling jokes... it was hilarious, but I think it might have been a sign of what was to come :-( May Mitch rest in peace... As far as this album goes.... The live stuff is usually funnier but I enjoy him in the studio as well... This album is a double disc... one new studio album and then the entire new album live It's a bit softer than some of his previous work, but I still think it's great... Kinda reminds me of Damien Rice |
I liked The Craig Machine. I had A Little Bit Special, but that wore out pretty quick for me. I haven't heard new material from him in a few years.
|
Wish I had a chance to see Mitch Hedberg live.. He's one of the greats.

Mitch was the future of comedy if you ask me. There have been lots of great comics to come to popularity in the last decade, but Mitch was miles above them all. Not to turn this thread into a Mitch Hedberg circle jerk, but he deserves to be praised whenever he opportunity arises. If you like Mitch, you should check out Steven Wright (if you haven't already)... Mitch's style was obviously very influenced by Wright back on topic: While I think some of Steven Lynch's earlier albums were funnier/better, I'm really digging this new one. He's just a really good songwriter, comedic or not |

Agree with all of this. |
I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to too.
|
I don't think I've actually listened to a record of his since high school.
