Pretty sure theyre taking this claim as fact in an interview scott raynor did on here ages ago, i dont think mark or tom ever admitted/gave an actual reason but im not sure.

It's my understanding that the new EP will be new songs, not a Christmas-themed release. It just happens to be coming out around Christmas. That is how I understood it at least.
