2013 Baseball HOF Vote
Putting this here so it doesn't clog up the MLB Thread and, yes, for whatever reason, I still care about it. I'm putting up a poll with options for the candidates, listed alphabetically. Remember, you can pick up to ten players.
|
Voted for:
Bagwell Biggio Bonds Clemens Martinez McGwire Piazza Raines Schilling Trammell Sosa's left off due to space/lack thereof. |
Piazza. One of my favorite moments as a Met fan.
|
Bagwell
Bonds Clemens Edgar Martinez McGwire Piazza Rock Raines Schilling Sosa Larry Walker No to Biggio. 3,000 hits shouldn't automatically get you in. Unspectacular career, one of the most overrated defensive players of all time. Far below average for his career. 2nd half of his career was really unremarkable, and it's where he racked up all the hits for 3,000. If he quit 2 years earlier he isn't even a consideration, IMO. I'm not automatically rewarding a guy for 1.4 and -0.7 WAR seasons. |
This needs to be Tim Raines' year.
|
Really, no love for Jack Morris? C'mon guys.
EDIT: Shit, I accidentally voted for Rondell White. He definitely does not deserve. |

not even a 60 WAR player. no way |

Fuck Jack Morris's HOF case. There's a post I made a while ago in one of the MLB threads about how flimsy his "best pitcher of the 80s" case is.
|
Bagwell and Biggio should go in together. Class acts when it comes to respect for the game. Hate to see the PED association with bagwell. Voted for bonds, it doesn't matter what you say, his career prior to steroids was worthy in itself. Tim Raines and Piazza deserve a call and I threw in Bernie Williams because, well, he's Bernie
No to McGwire and Sosa. Jack Morris won't get in. Most underrated player on the ballot: Edgar Martinez. Say what you will about the DH, Edgar Martinez was a machine |
Glad to see Bagwell with so many votes. I went
Bagwell Bonds Clemens Martinez McGwire Piazza Raines Schilling Sosa Trammell and kind of wish I voted for Larry Walker. Maybe instead of Trammell. |
Here's the post I was thinking of:
