Anyone else find it hard to get into new pop-punk?
It's not like I don't like pop-punk anymore. I still love the older pop-punk bands like Green Day, Blink-182, The Starting Line, The Academy Is..., Fall out Boy, New Found Glory, Taking Back Sunday. I try to psyche myself into liking these newer bands but I just don't feel the same excitement. They all have this bromance kind of vibe that turns me off. Stick to talking about girls, please. It may be cliche, but it works. Singing, besides a few exceptions, wasn't ever strong in pop-punk but I feel like it's become even worse with just over-the-top shouting that comes off as cringe-worthy.

This implies that I've enjoyed it at all in my life.

Classic Passion Man thread.

I like both the old and the new a lot. I do love (and miss) songs about girls though.

I haven't been able to get into any of these new pop punk revival bands; I just don't get it..

Every post in this thread is bad

In my opinion, what you (OP) were referring to as 'old pop-punk' and the new 'revival' I guess of pop-punk are two completely different tastes, for the most part.
The two guys that posted saying they just don't enjoy the genre at all...why are you even posting in this thread? |

Including mine yes |
I'm having the same issues. I miss the sound from the early-mid '00s. These new artists have their own interesting sound, but it's just not the same, and I just can't seem to enjoy it as much as what I grew up on.

hate that Man Overboard are all about that "defend pop punk" shit but they sound like Saves The Day, The Early November, etc.
not the New Found Glory\Blink 182 kinda pop punk |

Literally none of those bands sound the same. |
I think that as with all genres, there is shit that is balanced out by good counterparts. Some bands like Hit the Lights, The Wonder Years, and The Story So Far are doing really great stuff, while bands like All Time Low, and the Maine struggle to move away from that sound. It is all a matter of perspective though.
