HELP! Me find a 'THE CURE' song!!
Okay so a few days before Christmas I heard a song on the radio/soundsystem of a supermarket. I'm 95% sure it was a song by The Cure because I'm pretty sure it was Robert Smiths voice.
I was due to get their Greatest Hits album for Xmas so I wasn't too worried as I presumed it would be on there. But it isn't! Please help me find it as I really liked it! + It was on the radio of a supermarket so it was more 'pop' than 'rock' + I'm pretty sure the lyrics weren't that negative + I remember the chorus as being quite.. well... monotonous - it wasn't very bouncy or full of energy + Out of the all The Cure songs I've heard of it sounds like "Catch" + I would have put the date as the 1990s, but hey I'm not too sure of that I've got Disintegration and it certainly wouldn't be on that as it's not that dreary. Thanks. |
you don't remember any of the lyrics at all?

Nope none at all :( |
You need Shazam
|
you actually need SoundHound. It allows you to hum a song and it might track it down for you. I don' think Shazam does that.

I'm going out on a limb here, but this song is great either way!
|
Just go through their singles and find it. If that doesn't work, go through their entire discography. If that doesn't work, go to the supermarket and ask for their Christmas playlist.

I doubt I can hum well enough for anything/body to have any clue what I'm trying to hum |
do you remember if it was "standard" instrumentation, guitar, keys, bass, drums? do you remember anything specific like trumpet or strings? any weird vocal parts?
|
-Not on the Greatest Hits comp, but being played in a supermarket
-Somewhat vaguely reminiscent of Catch -Non-energetic chorus -Possibly from the 90's Gonna go with A Letter to Elise. |
Which greatest hits do you have (I'm not sure if there's more than one). My guess would be that it's a single from one of the albums post greatest hits, something like "The End Of The World."
