Silverstein's second release for Hopeless Records - This Is How The Wind Shifts - is the band's finest effort to date. The record's core concept is each track has a parallel track that tells the story in a different light - what would have happened if things were different due to a single event, thus the album's title. this album is pretty cool, i view it as a solid release following a pretty weak last album.

I never listen to tracks beforehand -- love to hear albums in their proper context -- but I just needed to leave a comment that I'm stoked for this record. Silverstein is one of the more underrated bands "in the genre" (whatever that is). Probably stems from being stuck next to so many shitty Victory bands for so long.

listen to When Broken Is Easily Fixed and then you'll appreciate Shane's growth in screaming ahah

haha, hes def improved since then! still idk, for someone who has been doing it as long as he has... it still sounds strained. just my opinion though. I used to love silverstein, for whatever reason I just cant get into them anymore.

really excited for this based on the first couple of songs and the concept and how great Short Songs was and Drew's comments. Should be good.

And it's ridiculous Victory hasn't pressed that record on vinyl yet.

As much as I wanted to hate this, I cracked a huge smile by the end of this song. Guilty pleasure, I suppose.

It was pressed on vinyl, but less than 500 copies, making it extremely rare. I've only seen it on eBay once in the two years I've been collecting vinyl and it sold for $80, if I remember correctly.

You aren't a fan of Rescue? I thought it was brilliant, only topped in their discography by A Shipwreck In The Sand

Ugh the intro to whatever song where he goes "MY HEART BLEEDS" is possibly the most skipped song in my iTunes shuffle.

it's me or his clean vocals sounds much better ? i'm not familiar with this band besides some songs from their 2007 and 2009 albums and their first album (which i thought was terrible).

seems like the main thing you haven't heard is easily their best record imo. You should check out Discovering the Waterfront.

This was good, not great. But I think it's sounding a bit better than Rescue at least initially, don't know if it can top ASITS or DTW though.

Silverstein is one of my favourite bands ever, mostly becase of DTW and ASITS, and I agree with what you're saying. Shane's singing, as his screaming, sound too superficial at times, especially since Rescue. Especially considering that in a few songs his voice sounds more natural and more emotional - at least I think so, maybe it's just me!

This song is an example. I wish his screaming would resemble more with what he does in a few parts of this song:



anyway, Silverstein's record seems to be great, Senses Fail is called a ''killer album'' and Funeral for a Friend's appears to be ''brilliant''. I am so immensely stoked for what's coming

Love this band but I this track sounds the same as the last three albums. Not a negative really but I don't see the change at all.

Agree 100%, more than likely why I have lost interest in this band.. they've been playing it very safe, every song seems to follow the same exact formula.

i will have to listen to this song in proper form, turned up loud on my speaker bar and not on these laptop speakers, to get the true feel to this song. glad they released another new song. preordered the vinyl for this last week. really excited with the concept of this album.

2013 is shaping up to be a great year for my nostalgia bands.

Pretty pleased with this song...could mean good things for the album! On the other hand, among the first songs released from Rescue were Sacrifice and Darling Harbour, which I thought were much better than the rest of that album. Let's say I'm cautiously hopeful. :)

On the subject of Shane's screams, I love 'em. I think that's one of the band's greatest strengths.

Last album as in Short Songs or Rescue?

Enjoyed this song. Short Songs was pretty great though

rescue was their only album where the band, to me, didnt put out a cohesive, solid effort. some great songs on it, some of their weakest, and just in my opinion a bad track ordering. short songs was so good, really enjoyed that one. and from what i've heard thus far from their newest here, i have high hopes its gonna be a contender with dtw & asits
