Right. I mean, it's cool that they're branching out beyond the themes that they've explored in the past. I wish they just had better songs to do it. They just seem like limited songwriters, though,...

That album is like five times better than this one though, so...

But people didn't want a sequel to TGG.

The feature seriously feels like a rhinoceros crashing through the studio.

Yeah, that record doesn't feel that long at all. It's a real contrast to this one.

Maybe he can channel the pain of this breakup into "Photograph: Part 2."

I mean, if you can write a 13-16 song album where all the tracks are great, more power to you, but most bands can't.

Also, and more importantly, you probably couldn't see the band onstage.

I had to use AP style when I edited the A&E section for my university's paper, and it was easily the only bad thing about that job.

This is the kind of band that would absolutely benefit from pulling a Born to Run and releasing an eight-song album. Look how well it worked for Japandroids. Jesus, more bands need to write concise...

"She's the One" is the one I have the least personal connection to, but I still think it's a perfect song. Haha

Thanks man, I appreciate that. When I was applying to colleges, there was literally...

Also, looking back, I only like four or so songs on Aaron West. Album didn't age well for me.

I think TGG had much stronger hooks. I think you can listen to "I Just Want to Sell out My Funeral" and hear how many solid melodies they had on that album. There were still some duds, but this one...

The melodies on this album just aren't good enough to justify a 13-track album. I feel like I would like this so much more if the mid-section had been trimmed a bit. I love it until after "Cigarettes...

This is a solid record, I think. Nothing transcendent to me, but they're one of the few bands in this genre that can still hold my attention for more than a few songs. Glad I cut my listen of that...

A fitting curtain call, Thomas. Really enjoyed reading this while listening to the album for the first time. (Minus that half a listen I did with the shitty rip.)

You rock, man. Loved your blog post. I wish you the best in whatever you do. The Springsteen-loving contingent on staff just got a little lonelier.
