The Beast in Its Tracks just never connected with me the way the three previous albums did. I too am happy to hear a return (somewhat) to the Conquests feel. The lyrics are great too (as expected).

Seeing them play "Death" at Shakey Knees was one of the best things I've seen all year. Incredible band/album/show.

Well, you all convinced at least this guy to give McMurtry a try. Just downloaded the new one; I'll listen tomorrow.

Seems to me "In A Sweater, Poorly Knit" is the quintessential mewithoutYou song. Not sure I could leave that off a mix for someone, even if I thought it wasn't the best song on that album.

I'm not the biggest fan of the venue they're playing in Atlanta (although it's the best of the small club options, I'd say), but I doubt I'm gonna get the chance to see them in a 300-capacity venue...

A 7.2 on Pitchfork for a band like this is pretty awesome, I think. I wasn't expecting it (the score and for it to be to reviewed at all), really.

Yeah, a show ending at 11 is the best. I don't care so much about the weekends, but it's hard to get up and get to work at 7 when I was at a show until 12:00 or 12:30. I know what I'm in for, and I...

Yeah, I've listened three more times, and it's grown on me a lot. Great stuff.

Updated. Sheer Rage, Brief History, and Girl were all awesome, although the last one was easily the best of the lot. I'm planning on - slowly - making my way through Ali Smith's bibliography...

I thought it was pretty good, if a little . . . I don't know . . . simple? I probably need to listen with better headphones though and with adjusted expectations. Very pretty, regardless. I liked...

Ah, didn't see that. Looks like it doesn't come out until July 16 though, according to that page.

Edit: Nevermind, you said that already. Confusion all around!

"Not Much Left of Us" is one of my favorite songs from him, but the rest of the first album hasn't stuck too well, even if I liked it a lot at the time. I'm excited for this, though. New song does...

Good luck to the guy reading Gravity's Rainbow. Easily the most difficult for me of the big modernist/post-modernist tomes I've read (Ulysses, Infinite Jest, JR, etc.). I do think it's worth the...

Well, this is probably my least favorite album that Nate's done, at least on first listen. That said, I found it to be better than what some of the reactions in here had prepared me for. I think the...

I've thought up until now that I would wait for an HQ copy for my first listen, but man, the reactions in here are so exciting that I'm questiokning that.

Regardless, it's awesome to see it get...
