I thought I actually preferred Sufjan when he's going for the bigger sounds, so I wasn't that excited for this album. It turned out to be WAY better than I expected. It could very well be his best...

My favorite part of the original is the drumming, and the change at the end. This cover basically ignored all of that...what the fuck

I haven't listened to the whole album yet, only Should Have Known Better. But that one song might legit be the best song I've heard of his.

I'm just waiting until I have a good hour of...

Agreed, down there with Meet Me At My Window. Otherwise I really like the feel of the song.

I'm 100% sure this is not true.

I'm at work right now so I don't have the CD with me. You're right that there was a rerelease, but it came with a bonus disc IIRC with live songs. Or maybe it...

The AP.net review was going off of a very early, unfinished version of the album. I downloaded it before the album came out. La La Lie was the last track, and it also had Lonely For Her on it.

As much as I'm enjoying this, I can see it getting old faster than his other albums. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Oh man.

Oh I know, I knew there was something wrong or glitchy with the score, I just didn't know what the issue was.

Canyon Moon sounds so much better through headphones. I don't know how I didn't notice those handclaps before.

ETA: Driving Through a Dream is much better on a second listen. Loving this.

The...

Tbf he didn't really start admitting it until sometime between TGP and P&T, if I remember correctly. But at least he admits it now. I'm sure most musicians would love to be on the radio.

I gotta say Maps for the Getaway didn't quite live up to the hype from this thread. Halls was really good though.

Overall I enjoyed this first listen, though the first half more than the second.

The drumgs in JM songs didn't usually stand out to me. Except for MFEO, now that was some drumming.

"I'll see her at the end of the week," is my one problem with the chorus. It's like he couldn't figure out how to tie up the chorus in a satisfying way so he took the easy way out. Understandable I...
