Ace Enders - Share With Everyone
Record Label: Unsigned
Release Date: January 19, 2012
Singing the praises of Ace Enders is nothing new 'round these parts. Whether he's making messes, playing solo or reuniting your favorite band, everything he touches is gold, it seems. The surprise three-song release Share With Everyone is no exception.
It's Ace at his purest, with simple acoustic guitars backing his always-gorgeous melodies, a la his Dustin' Off The Ol' Guitar sound. Each of the track starts as a modern-day lullaby, and the man softly woos listeners with his always-earnest lyrics before branching each song in a different direction. In opener "That's Not Your Real Name," the near whisper verses explode into a huge, heartfelt chorus sure to wow fans live. Rather than relying on his vocal power, "Lions" picks up the strum speed and features a great, quick-paced chorus melody that's intriguing in composition. All the lessons work together to make "If I'm Still Not Home" an all-inclusive track, taking each little piece of the back-catalog you love and molding it into four minutes of goodness.
Most musicians choose to drop it down and go softer vocally for their acoustic sessions; by belting at the top of his lungs, Ace portrays emotion few musicians could compete with. It's one of the singer's oldest tricks, and by expertly placing it at perfect times, it never gets tired.
It's simple, sweet, and it's Ace. What more could you ask for?
