I'm not that clued up on American math rock bands, but there is some cool British math rock bands you could try.
Blakfish (disbanded now, but they were relatively popular)
Meet Me in St Louis (Again, I think are disbanded, but as far as the scene goes, these were at the top)
Shield Your Eyes (Have been around for a while, saw them a few weeks ago. It has like a mathy progressive blues vibe. It's good)
Pulled Apart By Horses (Similar to Blakfish. Haven't really gave them a listen though.)
And, as people have mentioned, Tubelord and Colour :).

this band has some good elements of math rock in it with progressive song structures...more singing(less screaming and yelling) than most stereotypical math rock as well

Check out Enemies -- they are a 4-piece instrumental math rock band from Ireland. Super super good. I got the chance to interview them for the music review/interview website I contribute to: http://cardinalplaylists.com/2012/02...-with-enemies/
Their last full length can be streamed at the bottom of the page.

if you do check these guys out, make sure to listen to "this is animal music" and the "gasp asp" EP. their newer stuff is kind of ... folky.

thanks so much man! My favorites on the first listen were Pachuca Sunrise, and Secret Country. What is a good record to start at for these dudes?

minus the bear is the band that really got me into math rock and that sort of "style". erin tate, the drummer, is one of my personal drumming influences.

each of their records has it's own particular place in my heart. check out "menos el oso" for a great poppy-math record. "planet of ice" is a great record their showcases their technical precision and cohesiveness as a band. "highly refined pirates" was their first LP, and is really a solid record.

they also have a few EP's that are very, very good. i would stray away from listening to their latest full release "Omni" until you see what you think of their other records. Omni, while being a solid record, isn't really that groundbreaking for MTB.

Hella (they're purely instrumental math rock)
Piglet (if you like Hella you'll probably like these guys)
Monster Machismo (with vocals)
American Football (They're technically Midwest emo but they have some mathy influences)
