I used to be an artist; I could paint with my own words
Intricately fabricate the depths of my own mind
Now here I am, a dusty trophy piece
Hanging on a shelf somewhere that I am unaware of
So I left without a word, off to follow sounds I heard
They told me I just need to leave this place
Through the woods I traveled, unsure of what I might unravel
There were endless rows of valleys, as well as empty cemeteries
I walked alone to find something that I was missing for so long
The moon hung down above my head, whispered softly in my ear
You need not be afraid; I am here to guide you
I’ll give you light so that you may find your way tonight
So that you may discover what it is you must uncover
The sun it rose, whispered softly in my ear
I will give you safety so that you may not have to worry
The clouds they spoke, we will give you water so that
You may quench your thirst
I thanked them all, I walked along
I came across a mirror, thought it would be much clearer
What I had found, broke my heart
The sky it spoke, this is what it said
You could spend you’re whole entire life
Walking round the earth to find what you’ve been seeking
But you would eventually just end up where you are again
It said to me, honestly, you have lost yourself
So look inside, your broken mind
All that’s left to do, if you’d be so kind
Is just pick up all the pieces | | |
