Time Without The E huntington beach,... Male - 26 Years Old | I really don't think these "don't get gas on _____" help right now.
Gas prices currently are not proven to be what an economic market is.
The demand has decreased yet the prices are going up.
Unfortunately, because people are so anti-government regulating anything we can't step in and do anything about it.
The government should step in and fix this.
It is ridiculous that anyone can come and buy $10 million dollars worth of barrels and sit on them for 3 weeks and sell them when the price goes up 10 cents and they can make a couple $100,000 at the expense of the 99% of the population. They take away supply and price goes up. The governemnt should make it that you can't just control the oil commodities market.
Also, with these war nut jobs keep talking about a war with Iran, that makes the market very nervous and it drives up the price.
The answer is not to drill in America either. It is time for a change in how we make cars and how we use oil. I have a pretty good basic plan that could work for now until oil starts to run out. This is not a detailed plan by any means but one that seems to make sense for everyone.
By 20__ (I would say around 2016-2020) make every new car sold HAVE to get 75 miles per gallon, then 100 by 2018 and 150 by 2020.
It is possible and it will happen but you have FORCE companies to change or else they wont.
Then have gas prices around $5-10 a gallon. Sounds crazy but if gas was $10 BUT you were getting 200 miles a gallon that is still way cheaper then what we are paying now AND we are going to the gas pump way less AND the oil resources will last 10 times longer then what we are using now. The oil industry will actually make MORE money because they will be having to ship a lot less and still be making huge profits. The American people would be going to the pump way less and getting 10 times better gas mileage. People would have to start buying new cars therefore the auto industry will be happy.
Not the BEST solution but it helps for now... | | |
