It is sooo good - Zane Lowe played it twice and it felt like I'd been hearing it my whole life (in a good way)

There has never been a point where even close to everyone liked them.
I thank you for that stunning revelation. I'm sorry that I generalized by saying everyone. When secretly I meant the 14 million people that bought Hybrid Theory or Meteora.

Does anyone else think the guitar parts in the verse sound a little like Anberlin? It's kind of a weird connection to make, but that's what I hear.

Love the song by the way, color me convinced. The production is incredible, it's a really big, explosive sound but feels like a natural progression.

Have you seen my hands, just look at ‘em shake.
And the song just keeps on repeating, drop the needle again.
And I dance with your ghost. But that ain’t the way…
I can’t move on and I can’t stay the same.
And all my friends say…
“Hey, turn the record over.
Hey, I’ll see you on the flip side.
There you go, turn the key and engine over…
Let her go, let somebody else lay at her feet.”
Have you seen my heart, have you seen how it bleeds?
And the nights are so long, baby, out here in the deep.
The tick, ticking of hours lonely… I hear the alarm.
I used to hear when she would sleep in my arms,
But “Better Sense*” says…
”Hey, turn the record over.
Hey, I’ll see you on the flip side.
There you go, turn the key and engine over…
Let her go, let somebody else lay at her feet.”
And all my friends say…
”Hey, turn the record over.
Hey, I’ll see you on the flip side.
There you go, turn the key and engine over…
Let her go, let somebody else lay at her feet.”
Where you used to be…
where you used to be.
Where you used to be, here with me.

Never really got into this band besides "We Came to Dance" "Old White Lincoln" and "The 59 Sound" but this song is fucking great. What else should I check out as a good starting point?
High Lonesome, Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts, Boxer, Great Expectations, & Red at Night are some of my favorites.

I love this like I used to love music back when I was 13. It really ignites a lot of emotions that I'm even sure are my own. My jaded 20 year old self doesn't know what to do with this.

Fuckin love it.

Love this song, LOVE Gaslight Anthem!

As a sidenote (and I'm sure there is a thread somewhere about this), but I've been reading a lot of negative comments about American Slang in this thread and I'm wondering: what gives? Here I'm thinking it was one of (if not the) best records of 2010. Will somebody please help me understand what people didn't like about such a terrific album? Or at least link me to a thread that does.

I just know that Handwritten is going to be just as awesome! Can't wait for July!

I'da Call You Woody, Joe, Great Expectations, 1930, Stay Lucky, Boxer, Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts, The Patient Ferris Wheel
Also you should totally check out The Horrible Crowes, they are a side project band of Brian Fallons, that record is golden as well.
