Weekly Tour Roundup (06/24/12)

Posted by: Thomas Nassiff (06/24/12)
Too often, we hear about a new tour, get excited for it...then forget about it. Before we know it, the tour has moved past our city and we're stuck waiting months to see our favorite bands. Use our weekly tour roundup to never miss another show in your city. In the replies, you'll find a layout of current and future tours in North America, the UK/Europe, Australia and South America, with links to information about the dates. We try to remember every tour, but if you have one to add that we missed, just format it like we do and leave it for us to add. Head to the replies to talk about which tours you're most excited for.

This is a really cool idea. Just for the mere fact of being able to see these laid out all in one place.

i really recommend Songkick either for android or ios. it scans your artists on your phone and gives you updates periodically about tours coming to your area. it picks up even the rarest and most obscure artists. check it out !

Cool feature. This might be asking too much, but it would be awesome if you could sort by state or city or something rather than scrolling through each tour you are interested in. Still, very useful!

Would like to add that you're missing the current Acoustic Anberlin tour, which is one of the best shows I have gotten to see lately.

Not to be rude, but this is probably impossible on my side. I have no idea how I'd tag or sort tours in that fashion. If you look through it once, though, it should be pretty easy to spot the new ones each week. Maybe I'll figure out how to denote new additions every week too.

I figured that there's not any easy way to create that feature on the current site, and that it would take a pretty good amount of complex coding to do something like that even with the new site features on the way. Just a thought. Either way, definitely a cool and useful feature to have.

Glad you think so. It would be cool if we had a touring section, where you could just paste in a bunch of dates, and it would take the bands, dates, and cities and put them all in their own columns, then you could cross-search through all that. But I can barely code my Tumblr so I have no idea if that's even possible hahaha

Yeah I have pretty much zero coding knowledge. I mean it sounds like a fairly complex task. But yeah, pretty much what you just described would be the ideal situation, if it were possible. It can be hard to keep track of bands coming through town (especially if you look at it when it's announced and forget before the concert)!
